I’m usually a “wait and see it blind” guy, but I watched this and am so jacked up. It feels like it will be a total mental and physical challenge
Im a “get my hands on the yardage book months in advance to obsess over and watch every youtube video in anticipation” kind of guy.
Doesnt lead to better scores and doesnt help cooling excitment or anticipation…no idea why I keep doing it.
Guis, I’m starting to think I’m not going to get invited to this…
The West course looks really cool too. 5 par 5s, 5 par 3s, and two driveable par 4s is a sick setup for Quota.
I feel the West if more fun to play overall. So many great scoring opportunities. The East is a white knuckle ride that doesn’t really let up. The two courses paired together yet playing very differently reminds me a tone of how Mammoth and Sand Valley are.
Mammoth/Fields West slopes propel the ball towards the hole. SV/Fields East move everything away.
The bunkers on East are so damn penal. The SV/MD comparison is a really good one.
Not with that attitude
Playing the 6600+ tees on the East leads me to think that, because I’m a shorter hitter, I’ll have to play a handful of 3-shot par 4s, but could also be short of a lot of bunkers off the tee. Really intrigued to see how that plays out.
I know what Nick and I are doing on the way to the resort now…
This could be very dangerous.
I’m actually more intrigued by the West playing at 6100. Adds extra quota points and means everyone will be birdie hunting!
You’re overestimating some of our skill levels lol
Haha I said we’d be hunting. I didn’t say everyone was a good shot, myself included!
Don’t try and undersell yourself. I saw what you did during the absurdity that was the '21 NIT.
So there are two hotels that can be had for about $100 for the night, and there’s 2nd Swing, Top Golf, In-n-Out, and a milkshake bar all within walking distance of them.
I’m coming in Wednesday and hadn’t decided where I was gonna stay for the night yet, but I think this just sealed it.
Generally speaking - what kind of turf are we talking? Firm, soft, tight, shaggy, etc. I’m overthinking where to transition in this combo iron set so more input is welcome.
At least you didn’t get told you probably had an alternate spot and then watch a pile of people come into this thread with invites over the last couple months…
now we are asking the important questions.
