I honestly don’t even know why I carry a 60 at this point. I have used it maybe twice this year.
Was the 60 used for the bunker shot in that deep one on the Sandbox?
I have the worst memory for club selection but I think so?
Im actually kind of curious if lofts/design has purposely shifted in recent years. I grew up with only a 48 degree PW and 56 SW. Then went to the 48pw, 52 gap, 56sw, 60 lob.
Now my T100s PW is 44 degrees and I have big gaps in distances between my others. Probably need a whole new wedge fitting now.
Do you think he would have a strong opinion on my strategy of having a Jaws, RTX, and SM8 wedge in my bag to get every manufacturer’s benefits?
“Mr Vokey, why do you insist on casting wedges when forging has been shown to be far superior?”
(In case tone doesn’t come through in text, this is a joke)
For emergency use only could be one hell of a CRJ banger
I just went T150 PW (44*), T150 48, and then 52F and 58T in SM9. My previous set was 45*PW 50F 54M and 60L. It has simplified my approach to short game.
“Bobby—can I call you Bobby? Anyway, Roberto, I know some club-fitters recommend different bounces for different kinds of sand. My local muni uses a kind of sand I can best describe as ‘actual potting soil’—what’s the best move here?”
Hate to be the bearer of bad news to those who have been working on their stinger game, but y’all may be experiencing a perfect fall north Texas weekend next week.
Anyone who was at the RCC knows there is nothing “simple” about your short game
Was thinking about something very similar. May need to add it to my christmas list.
You do not need a table. I plan on thrusting you into the conversation.
I am going to keep my head above water…
But you must be using it wrong. Let me introduce you to the newest fad in golf instruction, Mr Joe Mayo. He is no short game chef, but a scientist who believes in hard data like yourself.
All joking aside, his videos are great. What he has done for Viktor is amazing. And the dude gives all his money away to a rescue shelter in Vegas.
10 seconds into the first video and he’s talking about wrist positions using terms from the hit board game Battleship. Can someone translate into self-taught pandemic golf swing for me.
@erin there better be battleship in Frisco
Very savvy move to get potential competitors adopting new short game techniques one week out from competition
