The Stroh’s have just locked our Major for 2026, so wanted to send a save-the-date in case some out-of-towners want to join us. An NIT invite is at stake!

(pasting details from @MangoDave’s post below … he’s the tournament czar for this event, point questions his way! Just wanted all the details at the top of the thread for ease of use).

What: Texas Two Step 2026
When: January 23-24, and 2026
Where: Landa Park Golf Course, New Braunfels, TX
Format: Two-day ringer. Net stroke play both days, participants make their best 18 hole card from the better score on each hole. We did this for the first time last year and the math and leaderboard watching is insanely fun.

2026 Texas Two Step registration is now open. STROHs are bringing the ringer to the first home and host of the Texas Two Step: Landa Park.

Dawn your windbreakers, hand warmer tubes, and beanies. Bring your living room wedge game. Remember that stinging feeling in your hands that keeps you coming back every single year. This is what makes Two Step so special. If you’ve had the privilege of experiencing this, you know what we are talking about.

There are 40 spots available on a first come, first serve basis. A $50 NON-refundable deposit must be made at the time of registration. Registration fee is $250, due 2 weeks before the festivities, and the fee includes golf, dinner on night 1, a tee gift, side games, and a charity donation. Special Note: Our wonderfully talented @HellerHighwater designed a t-shirt for the event, so we are gauging the volume of interest. If enough people want one, we will get some ordered in time for the event. You will pay for this separately, if/when that time comes.

For lodging, your best bet is to stay at the Schlitterbahn ‘Resort at the Bahn,’ which is the original set of condos by the waterpark. The booking site is fairly confusing - just make sure you’re choosing the right Resort when you book, it doesn’t auto-pick for you.

@Preston can you let the RMR crew know about the event? I think you’ve already let Tyler know you can’t make it, but we’d love to have some of the colorado crew down.

I can’t guarantee it, but there is a very high likelihood you get in.

Perhaps the largest down-side to mid-winter golf is the length of the day. We tried to expand the field, but we’re up against sunset just with the 10 groups we already have (and the morning group that plays at Landa that we can’t get in front of).
