Does that make @djpie Jill Taylor? And then who is Wilson the neighbor? @BamaBearcat
I feel like Randy would outsource this work, and Neil would outscource the work after he tried himself and fucked it up.
Random, disjointed thoughts:

As a kid who grew up playing HS football in the 90s and read Friday Night Lights twice this episode(s?) really activated some feelings. The Permian outfits and full commitment to the bit in the commentary were incredible. The Machinehead montage, as others have mentioned, was a 12 out of 10. To then go silent was brilliant.

Saying this with absolutely zero shade or subtext to anyone: did I spy a Pine Valley head cover on the big guy’s bag? Maybe it was National Links Trust. When I pause it at around the 1:20 mark the picture is too blurry to decipher. I wonder how many PV headcovers (if that’s what it is) have graced the fairways in Midland.

The three protagonists (including DJ in there) have an unbelievable chemistry. I watched with a smile for 90 minutes. Thanks to the team for making such soulful content.

Taking in all of the commentary about the budget and the direction of the show and all that, I still say that Strapped defines the essence of what drew me to NLU in the first place. Friendship, embracing the full spectrum of the game of golf, humility. Great stuff.
I liked the longer format for this season, and hope they continue experimenting with the medium for Strapped.
Friday Night Lights was a Movie and a TV Show, but first it was a book. Maybe bring KVV along for Strapped: Cincinnati and have him write a Strapped book.
If DJ keeps practicing his painting down in the basement, he could eventually make a Strapped visual art piece.
I’m down for a Strapped installation
Signing up now for the Strapped Lifestyle and Leadership Weekend Spiritual Seminar
Makes me think of this clip from the Royal Shakespeare company doing every interpretation of Hamlet possible
Finally watched and apologies if these things have already been said but here’s my thoughts.
First of all I loved the one 90 minute video format. Thought it flowed great and was really enjoyable to watch.
The Radio call in bit on the way to Midland had me laughing hysterically as did many of the other Friday Night Light references.
The High school football coach schtick during the Money Round was right up my alley and gave me a good laugh. Was tough to see Neil come close and miss out out on the Mega Bonus again and while it wasn’t the usual epic collapse we really have to be able to execute what looked to be a pretty simple 75 yard low punch on 17 there.
The music as always was spot on and perfectly fit the vibe.
Lastly my favorite quotes from each:
@MerchCzar : “I hit a good drive but Thomas Doakito got me on a blind approach here”
@Randy : “Neil you worried we might get our asses kicked by somebody dressed like this?”
Personally loved the electoral college bit!
Did Max alter his voice for this? Went back and listened a couple times and can’t pick it up (on the drive to Midland - maybe it’s elsewhere)
His call is in the trailer. Something about I think the fame has gotten to their heads.
10/10 episode. Helps that FNL is my favorite book but I stood up and yelled holy shit when I saw they got Brian Chavez.
They were all doing bits with their voices. I thought I recognized Soly’s scoop’s voice during the ep
Feels like a good time to plug Trap Draw No. 71, which was filmed right after the boys got done with Strapped So Cal. This was right when I started listening to/following NLU and I had never listened to it. Some good background on the first 5 seasons of Strapped.
I was yelling at the TV as soon as he starts talking about 4-iron. Unless those trees were just way worse than they seemed on camera, that was like a 6 or 7 iron shot at worst and he just got scared to hit it.
No chance of punching a 4 iron 75yds.
Thanks for all you do online!
I could be talked into believing that Poosh just called DJ and offered his bit of audio unprompted. Seemed a little spontaneous.
I had the same thought. Very tough shot to play with a hot faced strong 4i. But yeah we weren’t there, it’s a hard shot period, everyone plays those differently, etc etc
