Hey, @djpie and @kevjones - did the boys have enough money in the budget to get carts at Lick? My lower body aches from thinking about walking that course.

No way. The Strapped boys hoofed it like they always do!
Agreed though, Lick is not an easy walk. My 62 year old father walks it all the time though so I feel like a quite the wuss when I complain about it.

Damn, that’s awesome he’s able to do that.
Maybe I’m exaggerating how bad of a walk it is - I only played it 4-5 times when I lived in Peoria for a few years. That drop off from 2 tee to the fairway sticks with me the most.

I think you’re remembering it correctly. There are significant elevation changes throughout.
Just played Lick this past weekend for the first time. It was a good walk and the greens were rolling! Some tight blind tee shots that you need prior knowledge of for sure but i bet @kevjones helped the Strapped boys out with that. A lot of benches too so im sure Big Randy was a fan.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! The Pekin golfing community is really proud to call that track ours.
I’ve been playing there as long as I can remember, but I can imagine how it would take a few times to really get comfortable with some of the blind tee shots and trusting your lines off the tees.

My 77 year old father walks 5 miles every day, unless he’s playing golf that day (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays), so I know what you’re saying.
