I suspect there are a bunch of articles on Breitbart or Ben Shapiro talks about her a lot on his podcast or twitter and use her as a villain (I’ve never heard of her before).

Life is funny sometimes. I woke up today and came here to defend poetry.
I’m ending the day, leaving the gym, where I just ran into an incredible poet, my hometowns own Sam Pierstoff. His readings attract hundreds of teenagers, millennials and older folks. I guess the .47% of the population who likes poetry lives in Modesto. Incredible!
I told him about this back and forth here on the board. He shook his head and just laughed.

I read more than almost anyone I personally know. Fiction, non-fiction, short stories, and across most genres.
I don’t like poetry. Never have.
I consider this a personal shortcoming but I’m also not quite sure why Edgar Allen Poe and poetry have been conflated, as I have smartly chosen to mute the Troll-in-Chief (I know, he’ll be “shocked! This is hilarious!” at being called such) … that said, I know a lot of people who DO like poetry and mocking it so dumb. Somewhere along the line, it became cool (and conservative) to mock intellectuals, to mock art, and to mock education. I’m perfectly happy standing on the other side of that argument.

I end up getting linked over to Breitbart a few times a week (gasp… careful, I might be one of those right wing nuts you’ve heard about) and I’ve never heard of this woman, let alone seen a bunch of articles about her.
By the way, your stereotyping doesn’t help and isn’t much different than what ED has been doing.
And I’ll head the next one off at the pass - I used to listen to Shapiro. Then he went off the deep end and I #unsubscribed well over two years ago.
And now, back to our regular scheduled programming.
