The Splash of OJ returns with a new name Seven Seas Showdown at the Happiest Place on Turf: 36 holes, two championship venues, and two NIT spots on the line.
We’ll play one round on Disney’s Palm Golf Course and one round on Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course with the potential for a bonus round at Fantasia Fairways, the par 72 mini golf course on property.
The Mag isn’t just the longest of the Disney courses, it’s a PGA Tour-tested ground. The property hosted the Walt Disney World Golf Classic for decades, welcoming champions like Tiger Woods, Payne Stewart, and Vijay Singh.
The course now features the newly redesigned finishing stretch known as Grumpy’s Gauntlet, a demanding closing run developed with input from PGA Tour players to sharpen the test and bring modern edge to the course. If the championship is still in doubt heading to the closing holes, the Gauntlet will decide it.
Tee times begin at 8:00am on both mornings. The field is capped at 48 players, and we’ll be playing for two (2) NIT spots. Format details will be announced soon, with the championship likely being decided down the stretch at the Gauntlet.
Entry Fee of $325 and includes:
• 18 holes on The Palm
• 18 holes on The Magnolia
• Breakfast both mornings
• Range balls
• Tee gifts
• Charitable donation
• Closest-to-the-Pin contests on both courses
• We will also hold a raffle during the week leading into the event
Two days.
36 holes.
A modern Gauntlet.
Two tickets punched.
Literally 100’s of great AirBnB options around here if folks from other roosts want to come down. Also lots of other places to tack on more rounds of golf.
I’m already committed to play in Michigan’s CCC on June 13th and we have a Disney trip planned for November. Would be kind of tough to squeeze this one into the budget given travel and hotel on top of the cost of playing. Hell of an event and schedule though. I really wish I could make it work.
