Yeah, it’s not in my top 10 either, but it was at least in the conversation and I get why some would put it there.
That’s certainly the fun part of this thread is to have those discussions.

Do they take old men?
Hey! I’m also from Pewaukee.
Awesome - Welcome to the Refuge! Once the weather turns (… in months, unfortunately), we should get out around the area with the guis from the Milwaukee area.
Will second what @ajvhandel said. Welcome!
I will give my standard, boring, welcome stuff, but if you have interest, please sign up for the matchplay that we are running for 2021. It feeds into a larger, regional outing that will be held at Lawsonia later in the year (The “Ope”-in). If not, that’s fine too, Refuge however you want!
There’s a fair number of folks in the greater Milwaukee area, so never hurts to throw a message up and see if anybody is playing and needs one or wants to join up.
Now that we are getting in the winter weather, anyone know of a good place to practice during these bitter cold months? Like good simulator places? I live near MKE and this will be my first full winter here in the mid-west.
The range at Ives Grove has heated Trackman bays, opened last winter. Southwest corner of 94 and 20 in Racine County.
Nice, that is right near my job site in Mt. Pleasant. Thanks for that one!
https://www.wisconsinindoorgolfcenter.com is a no frills place. Be sure to make a reservation online before you go as I don’t believe they always have someone there if there aren’t times on the books.
https://www.xgolfbrookfield.com has more to offer on the food/drink side of things
I’ve been frequenting The Practice Station on Sunnyslope in New Berlin. They have two trackman simulators (and I believe are adding a thrid in the next week or so) - joined the winter league here to keep the game somewhat sharp over the winter.
They also have a full trackman outdoor range and a few practice holes and stations when the weather is nice out. They talked about making the outdoor range heated in the future, but was put on hold for this year.
Hey all, new member from the Madison area, glad there seem to be a good amount of cheese heads in the nest
Welcome! There’s a good number of folks in the Madison area, for sure.

Hoping to be able to see you at some Refuge events in 2021.
The Chicagoland guis are looking at planning a March event as something to look forward to over the winter.
Any interest in a 2021 Icebreaker event? It would be a good opportunity for match play and non-match player Refugees to break the ice with each other to start the season off.
March 28th or 29th would be ideal, weekend before the Masters. Try to play as far south as people are game for to get better temperatures. Thinking Eagle Springs, Edgewood, Brightondale, Spring Valley, Ives Grove, maybe Hawk’s View.
Very in on this. Let me know what, if anything you need from me in terms of help planning things.
Let’s see the interest level and we can sneak into each other’s DMs to cozy up on details.
Got me feeling all tingly now!
It’s a long, cold winter.
