It was so bad. Completely overgrown, just straight up not fun. The only recognizable holes are 5,7,8,9, and 10.

If I remember it correctly, there’s that group of trees along the left that kind of pinches off a line towards the left side of the green while the slope of the fairway forces everything to the right anyhow, yeah?
I’m sure they need some trees for agronomic reasons, but also boooo

There’s trees right, maybe a grove of trees left but I thought they were elevated up on the 17? tee box.
We’re both right, somehow. Upon looking at the flyover, I was reminded that they were in play for me because I was comfortably in the left rough!

Full agreement, although I’m guessing the proshop was light on inventory because it’s October. I was there in June and it was a decent selection.
I was there the weekend after Labor Day, just been chewing on it for awhile.
Incredible amount of potential.

Good list here, although I think it might change a bit after you play Lawsonia - Links & U Ridge. I’d also encourage you to check out Troy Burne in Hudson, so much fun. Hard to quantify which course is worth the most ‘value’ between Straits, River & EH but all are incredible.
Also you may be uniquely qualified to explain why the Irish is actually an incredible course on it’s own and not just the little brother to the Straits (this has been discussed here before)

But the course is SO good that I give all these things a pass.
I didn’t mention them because I never had to hit out of one.
