Hello and welcome!
Edgewater Golf Course in Grafton is a 9 hole muni whose policy has always been “if there’s no snow, you can play.” It’s not a great course, but it has length, and it will be open. Some interesting holes through the trees. Also, excellent fish fry.
Courses are open in Des Moines this weekend.
Love trout lake’s range, one of the best ones i’ve ever practiced at. I’m a big fan of St. Germain and timber ridge.
Any of you planning on planning on playing WSGA events this summer? State Am, qualifiers, etc.?
Heard they added 2 more State Am qualifiers this year expecting a lot of people trying to make it to Milwaukee CC
I’d play in WSGA events if… my kids were older or non-existent, I had more time to practice (see kids), and my handicap was about 5 lower… (see practice)
I haven’t played in a tournament since the summer after I graduated from HS (2002)…
This would be my first summer doing it. Just got an official WSGA account. thinking about Washington county or Oconomowoc GC
I’m likely to sign up for the state Mid-Am, and I’m considering the Lawsonia match play qualifier.
My annual buddies trip to the UP is the weekend before the Lawsonia date, which could either work out really well or really poorly
i saw they had a Par 3 Tourney on the WSGA website at Sand Valley, would be sick to do that.
I’ll be playing in Match play and State Am qualifiers. Want to play the Am qualifier at Oconomowoc but I got through at Mascoutin last year so I feel like it gives me the best chance. Going to play State open qualifier too since the state open is at Blue Mound. Their member series events are also pretty fun, played the one at Sentryworld last year.
Kind of a joke that there is no state am qualifier near Green Bay
Just signed up for Net Partners event in September at Watertown Country Club. Being an 19 handicap (hopefully a little lower by tournament time) there aren’t many other options. I’ve never played an official tournament event before and I’m really looking forward to it. @jbiz20 will be carrying me.
Signed up for the WSGA yesterday - looking forward to seeing some of you out there this summer
Just in case anyone hasn’t noticed…
Saw Lawsonia in the title while I was browsing earlier so naturally I clicked on it. I am lacking context though - got Cliff Notes? Admittedly I don’t get out enough on The Refuge.
Disagreement escalated to the point that names were called, which lead to the call for a duel (if you’re new around here, this is definitely a semi-regular occurrence).
In the past these have basically grown to be Refuge meetups. All/most have included a charity aspect, see “Strong Like Stella” and “Maxamania” threads, though you’re probably not going to want to sink the time into reading through ALL of both of those.
Why does the refuge feel the need to schedule dope events when my friends are getting married?
sounds like someone needs to take some notes from Koepka
