Hey guys, I’m just getting into this message board before the next season of golf starts. I put my name in the doc, but it seems like it might be a little late. I’m in the southtowns, if anyone wants to ever get a round in let me know!

Welcome! @JoshBWNY send this guy an invite to our Whatsapp group.

Welcome! Never to late. And we applied but didn’t get accepted. We will try again next year. Last year we had a successful 14 player Matchplay that we own on again. And a few meetups. Hope to meet you.

Just joined, thanks!

Hey WNYers, wondering if anyone can give me some recommendations.

I did a pretty cheap golf trip to Batavia a few years back and looking to organize one for the end of next season, but can’t remember which courses I liked as I wasn’t the organizer.

Feel free to review/rate or suggest others in the area:
Batavia CC
Chestnut Hill
Davis Countryside Meadows
LeRoy CC
Meadowbrook
Stafford CC
Terry Hills

Much appreciated and apologies for jacking the thread!

Not jacking thread at all

If you can get on stafford that’s def the best on the list. I’ve never played davis, Meadowlands or chestnut. That being said id rate the list
Stafford
Batavia CC
Terry Hills
Leroy.
I don’t think davis is anything special but the bar and grill is super good. Been there on my snowmobile. Chestnut to me is probably not worth the drive from there. Is Meadowbrook the 9 hole course in Batavia? I haven’t played it. I can get you access to Shelridge CC about 25 minutes away also. But there are a bunch of courses in Brockport that are good. And super close if you were looking to play multiple courses in a day. What time of year you thinking?

I’d throw Mill Creek on the list its about a half hour from Batavia in Churchville but definitely worth it

When’s last time you played there? Been 3 years for me. I know 2 summers ago they lost it they had water issues. Can’t remember what was said about this year. If in great shape it’s a great course.

Played in a Sim league with the regional Callaway rep - he said that Mill Creek is starting move in a positive direction after years of neglect. Good to hear - it’s a good track with the elevation change. Making it a Par 71 by changing #10 to a Par 3 makes sense. Hitting and staying on that green is another story

Yea, I didn’t play it last summer but my buddies who did said it was heading back in the right direction!

Thanks for this!

The trip I attended was organized through Genesee tourism and they put together the stay at the track, some credits at the slots, and the bus to and from the courses so I assume this list is just the courses they work with. I can definitely look into expanding on that, but not sure what the reception from GT would be.

If you are in the Leroy area and looking for a cool bar/restaurant, I really have enjoyed the Farmer’s Creekside Tavern & Inn. Kind of expensive, but a cool place and nice summertime outside area.

How many rounds?

Looking for an excuse to come to NEOH this summer? Never been to an NLU event? Join us outside of Cleveland this July!

Looking at a Thurs-Sun, hoping to play at least once each day, possibly 27 or 36 on the Friday and Saturday.

So those courses are what the trip offers? Trying to get my head around it. Cause i would personally play Stafford as much as you can. Stafford. Batavia, terry hills. Helps save travel time of that’s a factor. But i think those 3 are worth playing 2 times over the other offers. IMO.

Yeah basically the Genesee County tourism set you up with the number of rounds desired, a place to stay (we stayed at the track) and a bus that take you to/from so no worries about drinking and driving and give you an all-in fee.

Comes with some bonuses like free credits at the slots, etc. Courses weren’t great when I did it, but this is also a less-serious group of golfers… more a good time, so it was a pretty good deal.

edited to include breakfast at the track and lunch at the courses were included
