I had a great time yesterday. Was a pleasure to host you all. I actually only took my phone out of the bag a few times, which is usually the sign of a very enjoyable round. Chris, Drew, and Juan were ideal playing partners.
Thanks to everyone who made the drive in from Buffalo. I know it is not easy to tell your significant other that you will be gone for 8 hours to golf on a Sunday in August.
Hopefully next time around we can make 3 full groups, or maybe even do a little Rochester vs. Buffalo game.

I took exactly one photo yesterday, of the course, right before Kevin drove green side on a picturesque Par 4. Really enjoyed Penfield, and appreciate the invite. Nice to put some faces to names on here.

Oh cool! Iām glad you grabbed this picture. My favorite looking hole on the course. And I think we were talking about what it used to look like before the redesign.
I donāt have a picture from the tee box view, but you can still see the old hole on the Google Earth view. You can see how it used to be all trees down the left-hand side of the hole. There were also a bunch of trees right behind the green and a bunker on the right side of the green that was removed.

Updated brackets. The final 4 is set! Congrats and good luck. I am going to have something made for the winner and runner up. I am trying to get something small for the final 4 but not sure thatās going to come thru. If you havenāt some folks threw in 10 bucks. If you havenāt and would can venmo me. Please feel free to show me the door if Iām mistaken but it looks like this the thread for the greater Utica/Rome NY area? Looking at a potential opportunity for work in Utica and was wondering what the golf / private club scene is like there, any input would be greatly appreciated!
your kind of in the right placeā¦ there is a central ny thread but itās not that active.
Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford is the best private club in Utica area (Travis Walter design), Teugega CC in Rome is a donny ross design, supposed to be nice and an architectural gem!
Turning Stone Resort & Casino has 3 golf courses that are nice, Shenendoah, Kaluhyat (pronounced ga-Lu-ya), and Atunyote, Shenendoah and Kaluhyat are about $125-$150 a round and Atunyote is $200-$250. Also have a Par 3 course Sandstone Hollow which is great and a golf dome for the winter months!
Well the first year of our unofficial WNY roost Matchplay has come to an end. Finishing with a group of 8 playing at Batavia CC in fall conditions. Def feel like we got lucky with what they were calling for earlier in the week. Batavia was in great shape. I hope everyone enjoyed their round. Thank you for everyone playing and hope to run it back next year with full 16 field more if needed. I managed to pencil whip myself into becoming the Inaugural Champ. Everyone still finish up the sept & oct quota rounds. I wonāt be taking that, looks like colty has a hold of it. 14 person Matchplay, 7 month long quota event and 2 meetups. Great year! Next year Def have to do better about taking group and individual pics so the nest can see the best.
