Never done Bandon but Pinehurst is great, even if you don’t do the resort. I did one night at the resort and played No 4, Cradle, and No 2 then got a separate package and played Dormie, Tobacco Road, Mid Pines, and Pine Needles and combining the excellent golf and staying in the Village makes it maybe my favorite trip yet.
Streamsong is expensive if staying on property but not the worst commute if you want to do a few days in Tampa and then drive into Streamsong for 2 days of 36 holes or 1 day at Streamsong and then over to Orlando.
Bethpage is easy for WNYers and probably worth spending one day out on Montauk Downs that with a few rounds on Black, Red, and Blue would be an easy and relatively cheap trip.
I will say a sneaky good one is Boston/Cape Cod. Decent public golf around Boston and if you can sneak a few private courses on the cape makes it a great trip. Eastward Ho! does a charity event every year and it’s like $400 for 2 rounds and lunch both days. Well worth it and usually can piggyback a few other Cape private courses that way.

Yeah we played Tobacco, cradle and southern pines. Looking to go back and play more. So many good courses in the area.
Streamsong is nice. I’ve played the Blue and Black.
Also played Blue and Black in the same day. Was supposed to play Red the day before but the resort closed due to an incident on property. Would love to get back again and knock them all out on a trip.
I still think for the vibe and community feel not much can beat Pinehurst. I think I’d go crazy being stuck at a resort for a few days. On that note Kiawah stinks, flat out.
Now that the Refuge is primarily going behind the paywall I wanted to see if anyone is interested in playing in a Refuge organized event in the Buffalo area in 2021? I don’t mind taking lead on the event assuming we have a decent number of participants. If you are interested let me know by either replying or sending me a private message. Refuge events will still be visible to all refuge members after the new year but figured I would get a head start.

In for this, would love to meet you all and gain a little network of people to play with.
I’m in. I didn’t hear about it going behind a paywall as I thought that was Nest?
I’m in for sure. Unless it’s mid May, when I will be in Bandon for a week
Refuge now a nest member benefit except the events will still be public.
I have a few contacts at the local daily fee courses so I’ll start checking in with them and report back
Likely in as well as long as work schedule doesn’t conflict.
I’m definitely down for this - and think it could be like a traveling tournament, play at each location once - June in NEOH, July NWPA, August WNY.

Great idea. I’d thought a weekend of travel but might make more sense to spread out.
