Got to play Tacoma CC for the first time yesterday. What a treat! I really like their layout and it’s an easy enjoyable walk. I thought the green complexes were fun. We teed off early afternoon of a pro am and you could see footprints all over the greens but they still rolled quick and true. I’m curious to see what they are like in the summer. Overall a great experience!
Ended up having time to get a round in at HC yesterday. Course was playing really great for the time of year. Punched a couple weeks ago now and had sanded the night before, but they rolled true and pretty quick.
Thank you!
People bitching about top dressing is how I know someone is gonna bitch just to bitch when I’m at work. The ball still rolls true unless the job was done poorly. I’ll take people worrying about punching, cause that makes sense. But when someone plays out here on a Tuesday in May and complains that we topdressed, I tell them in the nicest way possible to fuck off cause they don’t know what they’re talking about
“Guy, you’re a shitty putter. Why are you talking to me?”
Agreed. Top dressing isn’t an issue. Only when it’s still sandy and pretty rough from the punch. @davidc I ended up getting out to eagles to play there and was quite surprised by the conditioning. Course was soft in some areas but the greens were outstanding. Also a heads up to anyone who comes out to play at The Classic, the range is closed right now and #9 is a temp hole because they are changing the hole out to a driveable par 4 over the pond. Will be exquisite when it’s completed.
Ooo. I think that might be a really good change.
Have they said why? They adding something where #9 green used to be?
Hell yeah, sounds fun. Good looking out!
They are adding houses in on the fairway of 9. The new green is already laid down and sodded. You can see it now while you play the temp hole and walk to 10. They are going to reverse the layout as well so 10 will be the new number 1 hole. There is lots going down. Should make for a great new layout scoring wise.
Not sure how I feel about ending on a drivable par 4
Well now it’ll make for reachable par 5, short par 3, driveable par 4. So you can go low on your last three holes or just implode.
I say reachable but honestly it won’t be reachable for most. From the black tees it’ll be around 280~ And most the time the wind is into and off the left on that tee. So now the shot will require you to hit a straight/cut around a tree and to the green that’s gonna be guarded heavily on the front. I think even from the white tees it’s gonna be 260~ and so most dudes won’t be able to make it.
You can hit 7 iron and sand wedge and make birdie all the time or you can risk it and make eagle. So I think from what I’ve talked to Joe about is trying to get it mowed down pretty good so you can get ejected and also to make all the chips risky with really tight lies. The green is angled toward the pond so if you’re long then you’re gonna have to execute a great shot. I had a long talk with Joe about it today and they really put some thought into the hole design and layout.
Hi yes hello. Someone called for me?
Great pics! Where’s the bottom at? The tower looks familiar for some reason
Aldarra. I have a video of the drive in, it is beautiful with the red leaves and Boeing farmhouse buildings, but I can’t post it here
What day was that? Last weekend?
Yeah, Sunday. Played with persimmons. Beauty day.
Ahh ok sick! Haven’t had a chance to play yet but have seen other pictures. Looks great!
What Yardage do you play it at when you play persimmons? Having never played Alderra (wink wink nudge nudge) are there are a lot of forced carries?
@MrVinegar206 off to an early lead for the PNW at the NIT.
