I’m a big fan of Vancouver! Haven’t played golf up there but I imagine there are some nice spots. We should def start talking road trips and a meet up!!
@Joshsteinbach85, nice. I’ve heard a bunch of good things about Avalon and been meaning to make it up there, not too far for me at all
Anyone up for getting a small NLU group together before/after years end? Not much time left in 2019 but would be cool to do something small and nimble.
@inchmarlo @cqueen @MarkInVictoria @Sarah @davidc @coach_dave79 @rabsie
Depending on timing, I’d be game! We’re down to lows in the negatives, not sure how much season left!
I’m battling a case of tennis elbow at the moment and not really sure what my holiday season is going to look like, but I’d be interested in hearing ideas. More likely a springtime thing would work better.
Having said that, I’ve identified a great venue for a Washington/BC meet-up. And, because this is the Washington roll call, it’s even in Washington.

Would definitely be down
Definitely want in on this. Good to get out and meet some fellow refugees.
I’d be interested!
Grew up playing golf with Kyle German, the head pro, great dude. That being said, US crew would have to cross two border crossings, not ideal.
North Bellingham is a ton of fun, centrally locates. Or Lake Padden. Semiahamoo or Loomis other great options
Rest assured that recommendation was very much tongue in cheek. Couldn’t be a Washington course less convenient for most in the state.
I’m all for it. We just need to plan something around this wild weather that’s coming in. We might end up having the same snow blowout that happened last year.
I’m looking busy through Xmas but if we can find the right venue and weather would love to get in on a game early January. Would be a great way to start off 2020!
I would definitely be down for some Refugee games! I’m an Assistant at The Golf Club at Newcastle but I’m game to play anywhere.
Any way for a group refugee discount if we did something at Newcastle? Great course but not exactly cheap.
Hi All:
A brief introduction post-Thanksgiving dinner: I’m a huge NLU fan and degenerate golfer. I live in the Leschi neighborhood in Seattle. A couple of years ago my wife (almost as degenerate) and I I took the plunge and joined a nearby club, but I still love playing the many great public tracks in Western Washington.
Would love to get a game with fellow NLU folks. Also look forward to BSing on the Refuge.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!
Hello fellow refugees, anybody interested in playing in a par 3 tournament at Newcastle on the 13th? I have one more spot on my team and I’d like to have someone from the NLU community come out! Entry is $80 and must have an active GHIN. Shoot me an email at christianballard20@gmail.com.
Hey everyone,
Been listening to and watching NLU content for a while now but figured it’s time to get involved myself. I’m originally from Chelan but live in Queen Anne now after finishing up a few years ago at UW. Excited to start meeting some of you and getting a few rounds in!
Awesome to see more Seattle area people! @mattr I also live in Queen Anne. And @cballpga I work on and off with Alex (Dunlop).
I likely won’t make anything in December as it’s a Q4 crunch, but definitely open in January / February. I could make almost anywhere in Washington - ideally somewhere that drains well :). I’ve heard White Horse does well in the wet.
If anyone ever wants to play Jeff Park or West Seattle on a weekday afternoon, or any time really, let me know. I’m usually at one or the other twice per week in the winter.
