I’m also playing 36 at RNK on 5/29 with a big group. I think we have 12 guys and it’s a fourball with a kickball style draft. The lower caps pick their higher cap partner. Whoever is picked last will be shamed profusely.

Maybe something has changed the last 5 years… but all the times I played it I didn’t think it was too crazy.

I lived in one of those…
I played Stonehouse (I originally typed Stonewall for some reason, my bad) and RNK yesterday with @mintbucket and @Zeke. Definitely firm and fast at Stonehouse (again, not Stonewall), everywhere except the greens. None of us had ever played Stonehouse before, but they were the slowest greens I’ve putted on in a long time. They had a sign on the pro shop door about the course being under stress and taking steps to help, so I assume it’s connected.
Also, after playing for RNK for the first time yesterday, 36 there might kill me. I’m sure it would be better the second time, but I sure did play it like a real jackass the first time.

Bent grass greens being stressed in the middle of May isn’t great news
For the last few years it continues to be, “Stonehouse has been in tough shape but it’s coming back. This year might be the year.”
And then, nope.
Are they not trying to switch to Bermuda still? I feel like those greens definitely aren’t pure bent at this point.
Switched to Bermuda last August. Cool temps in the fall didn’t help but the heat coming now should help a lot. The fairways were in great shape, especially when compared to RNK (their tee boxes were basically dirt in a lot of spots too).
People at Stonehouse were super helpful and friendly and were grateful we were there.

I still haven’t made it to Stonehouse, yet. I played 36 down at RNK back in August and there’s definitely a law of diminishing returns for that second 18. But them greens, doe.
