Just found out i’ll be staying in Quest Potts Point in downtown Sydney while there. Not sure if that is helpful or not or close to anyone.
Nice area @pward28, perfect for getting to the city easily and you will be able to take the train out to parramatta for your work each day.
I am looking forward to it and hoping to meet up with some regularly. Another question I have for everyone who lives in Sydney. I arrive Friday July 12th at 6AM, which will be one of my only few Fridays off while there. I know it is winter time and it may be cold but would anyone recommend trying to set up golf for that Friday or do you expect weather to be too bad its not worth trying to do it in advance? Would it be worth the money to try to Play NSW (if I can get on) during the dead of winter or is that something better to try and wait until its warmer. Does anyone know if they allow international players on weekends?
Visitor play (as opposed to members’ guest play) is limited to a couple of days midweek. One of them being Friday. But they will liberate you of about 500 Aussie dollars for the privilege.
I’d recommend you get settled and clear the jet lag and let’s organise a hit when the weather is a bit more reliable. I will also be juggling work and showing my wife’s South African cousin around that week, so am no good for golf then.
Member’s guest is $100, so a significant saving. Sundays are fine for me to have 1-3 guests depending on the tee time.
Living in Potts Point is a good result. You’re handy to everything you want to be enjoying. The commute to Parra will be two trains from there, but it’s probably still only 50 minutes door-to-door. Kings Cross to Central or Redfern and then change to get to Parra.
You’re staying about a two minute walk from my place and over the road from a pub
, can go over good local stuff with you over a beer. I might be working that Friday (looking 50/50 at this stage) but if not and if you don’t sort a round somewhere sooner I can organise a game at Bonnie Doon.
Coming to Sydney from Atlanta for 2 weeks for work. Believe I’m going to arrive Saturday AM July 13 and leave Saturday the 27th. So I’ve got the 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st to play. If anyone is open to playing or has recommendations on decent public tracks to check out, let me know!
Cheers,
Matt Shriver
Hey all!
Checking in from the Central Coast, which I guess counts for the Sydney Roll Call.
Would definitely be interested in attending any kind of #AFCNLU games that come along.
Hit me up if you’re ever having a game on the coast.
Getting down to Melbourne during your trip?
Sounds like a great idea. Just landed in Sydney and getting settled in walking around the area. If anyone’s out and about this weekend and wants to grab a pint let me know. My Australia phone number is 0452517145 so feel free to call or text me as well.
Yes I am. Trying to plan a couple weekend trips over there to play Royal Melbourne (maybe), St. Andrews beach and Victoria. Are you there?
Yes I will, free anytime.
Unfortunately no. Pretty work focused, just going to sneak 1-2 rounds in on the weekend
Just landed myself. Playing Moore park around noon to fight through the jet lag. Up for a drink later if you’re free
Hey Mate, shoot me an e-mail at patrickmward28@gmail.com as I am better at checking that then checking this up to date. How was Moore Park?
Would anyone in here be interested in trying to go over to Barnbougle Dunes during August for her winter special? Looking like flying out early Friday morning and coming back Sunday morning or flying out Saturday morning and coming back Monday morning (best flight options im seeing). If interested, let me know.
What date you thinking Patrick?
Friday August 30th - Sunday Sept 1. Open to others though.
Hey guys, I’m a Perth-based NLU listener/fan and am going to be in NSW from Sept 9-15. Would love to play a round if anyone’s keen. I’m a member at WAGC in Perth so have reciprocal at some Sydney courses. Happy to return the favour and take you out if you’re ever in WA and want a game.
I’m at Bonnie Doon, pretty sure it’s one of your reciprocals, would be up for a round.
