When I was living at the lake I was a member there. My favorite combo of the 9’s are the Links and the Mountain. The Original 18 designed by Palmer is the River and Mountain.
The Mountain has two holes that are very stupid but it is true “Ozark” golf in terms of land movement and some interesting shots. The Links is the easiest of the three nines but fun because you can score. If you are there for 36 I may go Links/Mountain, Mountain/River.
If you are in the clubhouse you can also see my name on the Hole in One wall!
I played (not very well) in the METGA Amateur series event at Persimmon Woods yesterday. It was a 6-hour and 15-minute round!!! We waited on every shot all day besides chipping and putting. Rules officials were helping people look for balls for well over 3 minutes. I had never played PW before, it was tough, especially with thick rough and gusty conditions. A PCC adjustment of +3 was assessed on the day. Needless to say, the Confluence event a few days prior was far superior.
