I’m not aware of where those tees would be, but I suppose it’s possible.
Circa 09 or '10, I happened to be out there the same day they were doing qualifying for the Frys.com event that was held at Grayhawk for a couple years. Thus they had the course set up with tee markers on the tips (this is significant because some holes have “tips” tee boxes in places you wouldn’t even be aware of otherwise). I was (a) better and (b) a masochist then, so I played from there. It’s not the longest 7,500 yard course around, but it’s still just brutal from that distance. I was certainly not long enough to be cutting any corners on holes and the greens out there are tiny and you really notice that when you’re coming into all of them with long irons.
Also, place tends to get windy in the afternoons. I maintain the best golf I ever played was a 77 I shot there (5-ish years ago?) in a 3-4 club wind. Par 4s into the wind were not remotely reachable. Downwind, holding greens was impossible. Crosswind holes were wild. It was so tough, but completely playable. What a great course.
Anyway, need to confirm with work I can get the 29th off but tentatively count me in.

I have a tee time at Papago on 12/27 at 10:36am. City card eligible ($45 walking).
Would LOVE to get a Wolf Hammer game going if there is interest. I have never played, but am ready to keep score and guide the game.
This is the crux of it isn’t it? Someone to track this stuff. And players who are interested.
I try to get these types of games going with my wife, my brother, whomever, all the damn time. I’ve even got those Vegas Game poker chips to really make it easy.
Nobody frickin’ pays attention. Two holes later. “oh, I think I had a 7 back there. Don’t we have a 7 chip? That was cute.”

Very true. You need single digit caps and some time to sort everything out. Shouldn’t be a blazing fast round at Papago and have been wanting to play it.
I’m staying at a state park here in cottonwood so this is helpful. We will see what happens golf wise
Just played Oakcreek CC last week, that course is so good and is in perfect condition right now. They are doing an 11:00a shotgun start to avoid frost delays, weather up there is perfect this time of year, cannot give it a big enough recommendation.
