Roll call: Phoenix/Scottsdale

Only $89 for what I’m seeing. Also, Can’t stress enough how happy I would be for a better rec

If you have the time and flexibility imo and probably many others here the best public is we ko pa saguaro. Southern dunes is another awesome option but a bit of a haul. But muni is hands down águila but again a little drive. Papago might be a good fit for location and quality of course

For me, it’s worth the drive down to Ak-Chin Southern Dunes.

Company will pay for ubers as I won’t have a car so maybe We Ko Pa, Saguaro, or papago?

If those are your choices, and you can accept the price, Saguaro at We-ko-Pa is a blast.

We ko pa saguaro is my #1 rec d for someone with one AZ round

It will be over an hour one way to southern dunes

Agree with all of this, but truly if it is hard to get away from the resort know that if you just play the Estates, the other course at the Biltmore, it is massively better than the Links. Short, sure, but a nice core routing so you’re not just trying to squeeze it between houses all day.

If you can get away, then 100% Saguaro is the best public course in the state and it’s not even close. Cholla, also at WeKoPa is also a really good desert course experience (more of a traditional desert course than Saguaro, which is desert C&C style) which is fun to do when in Arizona

Just looked up the uber. One way is $75. Don’t know if we will approve $150 in uber to WeKoPa

I’m a fan of Camelback Ambiente, which doesn’t look too far away. I have no idea what the green fee is right now, as I’ve only played there in the summer.

Talking Stick is just a little further east if you’re looking for a C&C course.

Talking stick is the leader in the club house currently. Only about a $25-30 uber

Also, if anybody wants to join let me know!

Just make sure you play oodham and not pipaash. Oodham is a good C&C but a bit flat. It will not beat you up either. Very enjoyable day out there

Piipaash is completely fine

Piipash gets a bad rap. That’s a solid golf course.

I think Piipaash only gets a bad rap by a very certain sect of golfers, which plenty of people on here are a part of. I know a lot of golfers who prefer Piippaash.

Completely fine and worse of the two can both be true…

  • Arcadia/Biltmore, south Scottsdale, north Tempe, midtown/uptown Phoenix are all pretty good for what you’re looking for.
  • Keep in mind, neighborhoods can vary one block to the next, even in these areas, so do your research before committing.
  • Value is very hard to come by nowadays. But get yourself a city of Phoenix card for discounted rates at the Phx munis; which includes Papago and Aguila, two great courses. Both have pretty decent practice areas too.
  • Cardholders get early access to tee times at those courses but, like tristansipe pointed out, you gotta pay extra for certain early access times.

Couple beers deep post round and wanted to declare to the PHX hive cause I don’t think I have:

Not sure if anyone else works a flexible schedule like me but Monday mornings (when I’m not traveling) are slower than death for me

Would like to get out and meet more friends so if anyone has a schedule like mine hit me up. Summer is coming and tee times will be abundant!

Anybody playing the City of Phoenix Championship this weekend? I’m not good enough for the champ flight, so I’ll be in flight 2.
