I’ll definitely give you cheaper and better views.
Me hearing all the Tucson love

2 spots available at Dobson this Saturday 1/17 11:18am if anyone would like to join @tristansipe & I.
If room is still available I’m in.
Yessir! See you then
Looking for one more nesticle to join us on Sunday at 8:15 at beautiful Encanto resort and country club.
I lol’d at the yacht and golf club rebranding last time I was there. I had to grab one of those hats because I love the idea, but I never tried it on. Worst fitting ill shaped hat I’ve ever seen lol
@DanJ copying your post over to the local Phoenix thread.
Correction. Staying in Mesa. So anyone getting out Super Bowl weekend I’ll have the clubs handy.
Hey, y’all. I’m from San Antonio, TX (STROHs Roost). My wife and I are headed to Mesa so she can run the Mesa Marathon. I’m looking for course recommendations as well as if anyone wants to play or host, we can try to work something out! We will be there 2/12-2/16.
I currently have a 1:30 pm on 2/15 at We-Ko-Pa Saguaro. It was literally the only slot available that day on the whole tee sheet. I also have a morning time on the same day at Quintero, but We-Ko-Pa seems to be quite a bit closer to Mesa, and the reviews seem solid.
Edit: I’ve just learned that we are staying in Scottsdale.
WeKoPa is much closer to Mesa/Scottsdale and 500x better.
I will begrudgingly say that Quintero is good for a one-time vacation round, but Saguaro is still a much better course and way closer to where you’re going to be.
Awesome, thanks! I know that a lot of people like to play courses for the views and surrounding mountains, etc, but I’m more of an in-bounds experience guy. I love good architecture, and if the course itself is pretty then that’s a great bonus. I don’t necessarily need elevated tee boxes with mountain views.
Scottsdale can be tough if you’re not looking to pay an arm and a leg. This time of year is quite literally as expensive as it gets.
Talking stick will be a popular recommendation but for a similar price to We-Ko-Pa, I would rather play We-Ko-Pa.
I think Longbow down in Mesa is a hidden gem $169 for the weekend you’re here. I think it’s a good test of desert golf without being gimmicky. Very unscenic outside the bounds of the golf course, but very well-maintained, some of the fastest courses in the valley.
Other than that, we can’t usually book city course tee times until a week and half out, but Aguila is our favorite public track (30 mins south of Scottsdale) and it’s architect designed other courses in the valley that charge $300+ right now.
I won’t say “money is no object”, but I don’t mind paying a few sheckles for a vacation round.
A lovely one sentence description of Quintero
All that matters is those picturesque magazine shots.
I just grabbed a 7:30am tee time at GCU for Sunday. One more spot is available online if anyone wants to join and get a match in.
Anyone off on Monday for Presidents’ Day and want to get a round in?
If I didn’t already have something scheduled with some buddies I’d be totally down. I’ll make an effort to check this forum more frequently!
A supplier is taking a few of us from work to Phoenix in a few weeks and asked what courses I would want to play. I think 4 of us would be considered an 18 handicap or better and 3 are just there for fun and probably won’t even keep a score.
They previously took us to Branson and we played some of the courses at Big Cedar Lodge so they don’t seem bothered by $400+ tee times.
What recommendations do you have for me? We are staying at the Hilton resort on Stonecreek golf club so there will be one round there for sure.
