Roll call: Phoenix/Scottsdale

I’ll play with you!

Mondays work for me and can always take off a Wednesday.

@KAShelton @Waffles let me see what’s going on. It kinda sounds like one of those situations where it’s most likely unsold tee time thing so an early morning tee time probably isn’t in the cards. I don’t mind just grabbing a tee time to get ahead of the heat though. What’s the summer rate? Like $90?

Just checked the other day so top of mind: $99 for non-AZ residents, $69 for AZ residents

JPop is correcto. And options in the morning both days.

I’m all for grabbing a tee time and having you draft off @Waffles and my AZ Resident rate.

If you both can play Wednesday I say let’s grab a tee time and beat the heat!

No golf for me but if anyone wants to try to use my identity to get resident rates feel free. Thinking that’d only work at city of Phoenix courses though since the card is tied to my phone number.

$99 bucks still a great price. I’m fine with that, any course recs there between the two? Saguaro looks like the more interesting course

I’ve only played Saguaro. They’re both top five in the state but most give the edge to Saguaro.

Saguaro is the coore Crenshaw. If you’re going to play one that’s my recommendation

Saguaro is a better course. Cholla is a little more target golf. Both are typically in amazing shape and are fun to play.

Alrighty got a 3 some booked

6/26 (Wed) @ 920am.

Earliest spot available for 3 or more @KAShelton @Waffles

I know it’s probably well known in this thread, but just want to shout out wekopa, likely the best deal around the valley for residents. 70 bucks to play that place, are you kidding me? So good. Just finished walking saguaro, first time playing that course. Awesome. Only being able to book 7 days in advance can make it a little tricky, but as a single had no problems. For those playing later this month, just know the place is dialed.

Can you imagine playing any of the gimmicky Fountain Hills courses (Eagle Mountain and it’s half pipe fairways) when you can drive another 6 minutes to We Ko Pa?

It’s not nearly the course, but if you like the Whirlwind courses or have gotten an invite to Seville, you can just drive to Florence and play Poston Butte for like $60. 13-14 holes are straight from the Gary Panks playbook and it’s always in pretty good shape. It’s Aguila but better and managed by Troon.

Also, you might drive by some prisoners out at the yard on your scenic drive as you cruise by the Federal prison.

This is why I have not played Eagle Mountain since 2003, first year I lived in Phoenix.

I do sometimes think, oh I should go see it again. But man every time I think about it, I figure if I’m going out to Fountain Hills, I could just go to WKP.

Played with three guys from Dallas todau and all of them said ,“we like EM more because it’s more fOrGiViNg”. Like you said, imagine thinking that’s better? Wild.

These are the same people who think Big Wick is a great golf course because it’s “scenic.”

Can’t fix the mouth breathers or the olds.

You hit a drive from the top of the mountain, drive down to the bottom, and then hit an approach to a blind green with 4 tiers you could never see.

F that nonsense.

Since you brought it up (and kind of shared your thoughts), is big wick worth the drive? It’s been on my list, but it’s so far, and if it’s not gonna be worth it I may have to cross it off
