Roll call: Phoenix/Scottsdale

Yeah, when you have Carolinas and NY/NJ groups in like the 150’s, saying a 20 member minimum seems like no problem haha

Update: 3 likes so far with my invitation in the CO thread haha. No replies yet.

Meanwhile, out west …

If we do end up with the 4 corner grouping, maybe we all do some local games then quarterly/bi-annual we do a meet-up somewhere. So that way its not constant travel, but we keep involvement consistent and ongoing.

Is there any known good golf in Navajo Nation?

I think it’s a brilliant idea! Wish I was in the area that weekend. We’ve got two weeks in January and two weeks in March that we are scheduling in Arizona this year.

And fyi GeauGolf is a platinum member at Topgolf nationwide.

Actually in the Nation itself? No. There’s the rezgolf course featured in Coyne’s book (Wagon Trail to Lonesome Pine, IIRC) but that’s more inspiration/novelty.

Now, if you just want to talk good golf in the Four Corners region, there are options, and at reasonable prices, as well.

Pinon Hills in Farmington NM has long been rated one of the top munis in the country.

Conquistador is a very solid under-the-radar muni in Cortez CO designer by Press Maxwell.

The Hideout in Monticello is a course I’ve always wanted to stop at as I drive by. I’ve heard rave reviews from those who play it and it looks like a blast.

As for AZ … Page is a bit west from the FC area, and I’ve never played it, but Lake Powell National looks like fun.

Just starting a Google doc to see how many numbers we’ll get for a potential roost.

Can you make that editable por favor?

damn, first time trying to create a shareable google doc, will try and get that fixed now

I think I fixed it. Let me know if it works now.

Even if it had been your 1,000th time, it would still have to be fixed…every damn time

Yes, this was the idea, at least some what central and requiring everybody to drive haha

CO/Denver have already hit the 20 nest member quota in their thread. Will step outside the 4 Corners to see if any Vegas members want to join a SW Roost. If we get some decent numbers, maybe we’ll be able to combine and just have mini pods within the larger geographical roost.

I wouldn’t be too much weight on getting to 20

  1. we should be able to get there (maybe not with Nest members, but with people who were once active on here + names from previous match plays and the likes, we have well over 20)
  2. highly doubt NLU is like “nope, sorry, not allowed in our club”

The 20 Nest members are part of the Roost requirements for 2022 at least. That’s why I’m just trying to see how many we could potentially get in the overall SW/4 Corners region.

There was a quick shout out to our Phoenix Match Play/Quota games on the latest Nest pod as an example of a type of season-long event vs a one-day event, so they at least know we’ve got something going on over here haha.

All good now!

I know I know, just saying maybe they won’t be that strict

Palm sucks. Pine is the best they have to offer

I am trying to recruit a buddy of mine to join the Nest. If he joins then I would guess that he would be interested as well. That hopefully gets us one closer to 20 if it is a hard number.
