Roll Call: Oklahoma "The Supercell"

You guys are too kind. I’m in Little Rock so hit me up @SkratchDaddy83 if you ever swing into central Arkansas.

Pass through quite a bit on the way to El Dorado, but I am LR at least once a quarter. I’ll give you a heads next time or let you know when I am headed south and you can always make the 2 hour drive if you want to play Mystic.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, please see the following schedule of events for the upcoming 2023 Supercell season. The first half of the season will be a “race” to the Regional Qualifier where each event March thru June will have qualifying spots available. The June event will serve as the Supercell Regional Team qualifier and determine the four Cellmates competing against those LOSERS (kidding) from Texas. We will be taking the top two players from the March thru May stroke plays and the semi-finalists from the Spring Survivor. The final two spots will be awarded to the two individuals getting the most #involved in the golf and social events. The R4 Fourball in July is going to serve as the Regional this year and will be net stroke play between the three Roosts.

The entry fees for each of the monthly golf events will largely go to charity. A fraction of the money will be dedicated to help cover costs for the Texhoma roost that qualifies for the 2023 Roost Club Championship.

Spring Survivor tournament —our goal is to have a field of 32 golfers. The sign up and payment for this event will close February 8th, 2023 which will give time for the bracket to be completed and players to begin scheduling matches. If a full field is not attainable, potential first round buys will be determined at random via a drawing.

Spring Survivor Payout Schedule*

  • 1st place - $640
  • 2nd place - $320
  • T-3rd - $160
    *Assumes field of 32

Breakdown:

$1280 – paid back to field
$960 (roughly) – Tee gift
$640 –Charitable contribution
$320 – Supercell General Fund

There will also be social events that will be “loosely” organized on the Sunday of the major tournaments. Each major metro area (Tulsa & OKC) will be responsible for the organization of these meetups. Low-stakes golf followed by food and a responsible number of beers in a fun, social setting is the goal here.

The Venmo account will be live within the next day or two, so please refrain from asking about the venmo address. When established, it will be posted on the google doc link on the sign up sheets. I will also update this thread as well.

Supercell nation, let’s ride.

The early season portion is probably all the golf I’ll get to play in 2023, so count me in for Survivor and Lafortune/Blackjack events!

Dope! Hit the hyperlink in the post and slide on over to put your name down on the events you want in on. I’ll have the venmo posted by EOD tomorrow, so don’t worry about that for now. Deadlines for payment are listed as well.

Fantastic work Amigo!
I’ve taken the liberty to pencil the R4 in with Dornick for Sat 7/29. Our Club Champ is booked for the weekend of the 15th (heads up @DuckDuckHook) and were dryjecting the greens on 7/17 - 12 days should be ample recovery time. The first two weekends in Aug are open also should we need to punt

Looking forward to it Gents!

Is the idea to combine R4 with the Regional Championship? With Supercell choosing location as reigning champs, that would be probably the most convenient to Big Plex and Strohs both location-wise and for scheduling since others will want to come up and participate that weekend anyways. If so, I’ll let my DFW crew know and we should also talk to Strohs about this.

That’s the idea, middle ground for everyone. I believe @OliveLoaf will be getting with you soon about this. We left details pretty tentative for that event though.

I think it’s a good way to do it. I’ll see Loaf and Vern soon and we can chat more.

Change of plans. We are staying in town this weekend if you want some to swing the sticks with.

Brought the sticks, no spikes, and free from 11:00 to 4:30, if you know somewhere we can get on this late.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, mainly the open bar rehearsal dinner and the accommodating staff at the Cowgirl Cabaret, this user will not be doing shit today, let alone playing golf. Apologies and back to bed.

Hey guys, I am new to all of this. I’ve heard great things about Roost events from friends and excited to get involved. I’m in Oklahoma City and always up to play. I’m looking forward to the first event and to meet everybody. If any help is needed planning or with anything, I’m happy to help however I can.

Welcome to the Supercell @AgritouristSauce! Captain @jsmoove can get you sorted on 'Cell registration; scroll up a few posts and see 2023 schedule.

As for a regular game in OKC, Sunday afternoons at Lincoln Park are where it’s at. Hit me in the DMs if you want to be added to the WhatsApp that tee times are arranged.

Cheers!

@AgritouristSauce Happy to welcome you into the Supercell. Reach out directly to me if you have any questions about the 2023 season events or how to get #involved.

As my colleague @Mish noted, we’ve got a pretty good group down in OKC that should help you get acquainted.

Though I’m not sure I agree with these, it seems The Doak Effect :tm: has vaulted DHCC to #5
