Hereās my genuine thoughts, all of which I will preface with the fact that the conditions of the course obviously exacerbated my feelings towards it. Spring time in OK however so I totally get thatās going to happen. Also I know how much people love that place so some of the hate just comes from enjoying the controversy.
Iām all for using the natural land to build a golf course. Thereās a limit for me at which that doesnāt become gimmicky. Thatās a funky piece of land and Iām cool with some weird holes here and there but literally not sure other than 13 and 15 I liked any holes. Itās the 21st century, we can move some dirt around to get rid of the undulations everywhere. I think you can blow a place to pieces and still incorporate the natural landscape, I donāt think not doing that all becomes āwow what a great natural designā. As I described in a text, it feels like a backyard golf course where someone just happen to have barely enough land to squeeze 18 holes into. Personally, thatās just isnāt my cup of tea.
I know thereās people that will die on the hill of that kind of architecture being the best and I respect it. Just not the kind of golf that I personally enjoy playing. If anyone that comes to Rose wants to tell me itās a piece of shit layout Iām more than happy to listen lol

Whenever I choose a course I always ask myself: Does it have a shitload of ponds I can hit into? Do I get to see piles and piles of houses?
