Iām looking for advice on how to better run my tournaments. This will be our third year of hosting events but I can never seem to get more than 6-8 people to play (and thatās including me and my son). Part of the issue is probably the fact that few people see a backyard course as something worth playing, but I figure thereās got to be something a person can do to at least get people there (you know, to make it worth their while). We do feed everyone at our events and of course we have prizes and payouts but is there anything unique that could be added that might get peopleās attention? Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Honestly? The biggest hurdle is going to be location - 2hrs each way from South Tulsa for me makes it tough. I will say the social media #content has been great, and continues to make that 4hr round trip seem shorter and shorter (especially if I can round up a few buddies to make the trip, as well).
Stay patient - work on getting those @reddirtgolf guys out there to increase your exposure - and just make sure you continue to have fun with it.

True about the locationā¦spreading the tournament out over two days probably doesnāt help either. We have a couple of guys that drive down from NW Arkansas each year for it but they have to make the drive twice simply because there isnāt anywhere close to stay overnight thatās affordable, and itās in July which means weather is almost never going to be pleasant.
This might be better thought out as an event in a different season thatās one day onlyā¦
