For those in OKC metro (or in town this week), we are doing a ton of stuff for the Masters at Chalk Sports. If you are interested in getting a newsletter about it all, hit me in the DMs or follow @ysogolf on Twitter
It’s literally the best place to watch the Masters outside of ANGC.
Would love to see all the OKC guys come by Chalk today or tomorrow. We are doing a “live” podcast at 3pm today (Sat) and hanging out all day Sunday. Grilled pimento cheese sammies are to die for… @OliveLoaf@timshel@ShooterMcGavin et al
We had a few late drops from the R4, April 24th, 2021.
Come play historic Dornick Hills, the home of Perry Maxwell, sign up!
$100 for golf/food/fun is a STEAL.
Any interest in getting a weekly or bi-weekly thing going at one of the OKC munis? Or even at Jimmy Stewart? I still haven’t met any of you which seems like a problem!
Shoutout to @dad for his hole-in-one on #9 at Lincoln Park - West today. I showed up to watch him and this was the first shot I saw from him today. Crazy coincidence. Anyway, 8-iron from 208 yds. Perfect one hop and three feet of roll. It was chilly and blowing today. In a college tournament no less and ended up with the easiest 70 you’ll ever see.
I know not everyone is into par-3 golf (especially the homemade, backyard type) but I wanted to extend an invite to anyone interested to our 3rd Red Oak Open July 2-3. It’ll be at the backyard course we built in Red Oak called Noah Farms…we have six holes and you play around three times for a round. Bermuda greens and we usually have then running about 10-11 by tournament time. We have cash prizes, contests, and food both days…$30 entry fee covers it all. More info the coming weeks on our IG (@noahfarmsgolf).
Man, I would be there if I could (I’ve been creeping on the IG and trying to figure out how to get out there), but our first child is due July 6, so I’m afraid of my wife’s reaction if I were to disappear to go play golf that weekend.,
Cross posting from the Texas thread. 3 hour drive due west from OKC
Good afternoon everybody!
I am trying to gauge interest in a possible event on September 11th or October 2nd in my hometown of Pampa, Texas. It could be very well a deep sense of nostalgia, but I find that the Pampa Country Club is an excellent old course. The design dates back to the early 30s and was taken on by an “expert architect ”… whatever that means in the 1930s. There was only one guy who was considered an expert in the area and might have crossed over from Oklahoma. No evidence but a hunch.
The videos don’t do the elevation changes justice. Given the fact the rest of the landscape is pancake flat, it’s remarkable they knew to make this piece of land a golf course.
Is it the middle of nowhere… Yes. Can we do a ton as far as golf, food, drink, and for local charity with 100 bucks. Yes. (Thinking CASA of the High Plains)
I know the folks in Pampa and at the Country Club will go out of their way to make us feel at home.
