I grew up spending most of my Summer weekends there. We were just north of Shangri-La at the Tera Miranda resort. Sounds like you might be close to that area as well?
Such great memories there, enjoy it!

Yeah man super close. LIke a 5 minute boat ride to Shangri-La.
It was absolutely spectacular and very grateful of my parents for sharing their dream with us. Cannot wait to make a ton of memories there.
Iâve driven up and down that shoreline hundreds of times. Way back in the day, there used to be a lion in an outside cage at one of those homes right off the shoreline (shout out Tiger King, donât think there is any correlation here but who could tell!) Wild stuff!
There are some fun and in some cases peculiar restaurants around there.
I heard from a local this morning, that two of the best restaurant spots are now at Tera Miranda and Shangri-La.

Awesome. Thanks for the recs! Def going to âThe Shebangâ this summer.
Also youâre going to want to get your hands on some of this. Marshall is out of Tulsa but is probably at all larger stores.
New to the Refuge, just getting playing again after a few years here in the Tulsa area. Anyone else ever take advantage of the $7 sunset rate at South Lakes or Lafortune?
âŚnot as often as I should. I picked up the Players Card at Forest Ridge this year, and it has already paid itself off 2x+ ($15 to walk 9 holes during twilight hours).
LaFortune has a good Menâs Golf Association (8 events left - all on weekends) if youâre interested in joining. They flight everything based on handicap (estimating handicaps for those without enough rounds) so it makes it more fun for all parties involved.
Iâm going to be in the Tulsa area for a few days - this Sunday 7/5 - Wednesday 7/8. Wondering where you all would recommend I play, within an hour or so (actuallyâŚdriving over from Arkansas, so anything along the route from Fort Smith also). If there is something worth traveling for, I would go to Oklahoma City also. Seems many private clubs in the area are not allowing guests yet, so I imagine it has to be public access. Appreciate any guidance. Reading this thread, seems Buffalo Rock may be worth checking out. Also, I know it is a busy weekend, but if anyone wants to meet up, let me know. Thanks!
welcome! If you decide to play LaFortune (which as far as muni golf goes, is not bad) I highly recommend you get a tee time ASAP. I went down there on a tuesday evening a couple weeks ago at about 5pm to play the par 3 course, and it was fully booked past 9pm.
Edit: Not sure if the regular course is as congested these days, I didnât have time for it that evening so didnât ask. If you are spending any time in Little Rock, try Burns Park and see if the user here who goes by avess is available to play
Also it has one of the best pro shops in Oklahoma.
As I mentioned somewhere in here, Tulsa Public golf kinda low key stinks. But if you stay away from Page Belcher and Mohawk Park and youâll be fine with LaFortune, Bailey Ranch, Battle Creek, Forest Ridge. They all have their drawbacks but are fun to play and have good conditions.
Iâm outta town this weekend for the 4th but could definitely meet up Monday or Wednesday.
Also potentially avail for a weekday evening meetup. Depends on my work league (they donât release the matches til Monday around noonish).
If you are in the mood to try different types of golf balls, hit LaFortune. They have a massive chest full of near-new condition balls in the shop, you can get 3 for $2 or a dozen for 6 bucks. @AlfredAdler and I played part of the par 3 today (pace was abysmal, we left after 11) but I got a Snell MTB Black, Chrome Soft TruVis, and four AVXâs for 6 bucks and they were all mint. Played the Snell for a few holes and it felt a bit firmer than I liked, but it spun well around the greens. Windy day so I put the AVXâs back in play and was not disappointed.
Guis. Welcome @Dilly.eats to the 405. Andy blew him up for creating a new Oklahoma thread. Tough scene
Oooof. Tough opening, hope he can scramble to make his refuge par.
JK @Dilly.eats welcome!
Lesson learned no hard feelings. Glad to be a part of the group gentlemen.
Welcome @Dilly.eats !
@Dilly.eats, Welcome.
Let go launch 'em
Twin is on fire. Not great.
Looks to be the kitchen - not that surprising given the amount of grease I see in there on a weekly basis. Apparently it was pretty smoky in the locker room from talking to some people up there right now. My shoes will have a nice odor when I go up tomorrow to play!
Looks like the FD has it mostly under control now. Hoping this will kick the clubhouse renovation into gear!
Nothing like a little insurance money to get the ball rolling!
After learning the fire is apparently under control, the âjokeâ in our young exec member Group Me has been that the older membership canât even do insurance fraud right!
