Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2026 Major now official

I think Cincy Vice was my first legit refuge event and it was fantastic. Thank you @methridge for organizing and ordering up the great weather and firm greens. Really enjoyed the company of @chill and @nanerman. Great meeting other Cincy guys and hope to play again soon. Happy to have people out at Mak if the mood strikes.

I can confirm the rumors. New Albany was in atrocious shape. They also werent letting us use the tee boxes and instead had the markers placed in patches of rough that had mostly become dirt/mud. Walk was not ideal but we made it work. The biggest crime is they charged me $60 in mid october for the experience. 2 out of 5 stars. Would not reccomend to a friend.

Edit: Still more fun than not golfing.

Thats criminal. There are so many better options around for $60.

That should be like $30-40 at the most based on what you just described

Bought a push cart yesterday after @mharp let me borrow his spare on Friday.

Looking for suggestions on walking friendly public courses in Cincy.

All the county courses are walkable with a few caveats. Sharon Woods has the cardiac hill on 9. Miami Whitewater the most walkable. Glenview also walks well. Fairfield walks well.

That’s an understatement. It’s brutal. Also walking down 8 is an alpine descent

had a great time with everyone yesterday! the worst of my game showed up for the event but playing with ā€˜Fugees is undefeated.

@methridge sure knows how to host an event.

Both Cincy VIce and Friday night at The Acres were a blast. Glad I got to meet so many new (to me) Refugees, all of which delivered great vibes.

If only my game from the Trackman competition carried over to the course hah

Don’t forget about the steep hill you go down on 10! Then straight up hill on 11!

I’ve walked Blue Ash a couple times, #14 I think is a dumb hole and tough walk to that green and next tee box but otherwise it’s not bad. And in my experience pace is never great at that course, so walking helps avoid more waiting.

2 spots for sleepy Sunday with myself and @quicktempo

What time on Sunday? I may be in

7:50

Sounds good, I’m in if there’s a spot left still.

Got 1 spot for brookledge tomorrow at 7:40. @quicktempo doesn’t want to play anymore

I’m off at 8:12 tomorrow, sure I’ll see you guys out there. In a vacuum I value the extra 30 min of sleep but if no other takers I’m confident they’d let me swap

Didn’t get any takers so hop up with us.

So Valley of the Eagles….I’m stumped. A few very cool holes and well conditioned. But man that routing is dopey AF. I did dig the clubhouse. Seems very much like a nice place for dinner in the fall or winter. Super cozy. Ultimately I’d play it again. It’s more interesting than a lot of courses around here.

Any NEO guys interested in checking this out? Sounds fun and surely there’ll be no election talk during it….I hope.
