Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2026 Major now official

Got some signatures on some death beds? Feels like something I’d do hahah.

Yeah. I have zero clue what the going price is cause of this item and some others.

Mrs. Plumb Bob and I have discussed moving in the next few years — she really wants to go back to Rhode Island — when she’s finished with law school and if we were ever to do that, I’ve made my opinion known that my willingness costs one initiation fee at a relatively decent club.

Count me skeptical of both moving and how much my opinion on anything matters at all, haha

I’ve never hit in the cages, but have played more than a few rounds of putt putt around range sessions. That putt putt course is surprisingly nice as long as it’s not flooded with families.

I don’t feel bad now paying $20 for 120 balls today at my range. Titleist prov1 practice balls and TaylorMade range balls comprised the lot.

I hit balls at Briardale in Euclid on occasion. It is $16 for a large bucket and $15 to walk nine holes. I’m a medium bucket guy myself, but thought that was funny.

I am a firm believer that what the Acres are doing down in Cincy makes so much sense. range, mini golf, food, drinks, patio tables, music and a fire pit makes for a very happy family night. However, range balls off of mats is never fun.

Do you hit off the covered mats or chance the really loose, inclined grass area? I like Briardale for practice actually, the putting/chipping green is pretty big and kind of elevated and so far away its usually not busy.

I haven’t been to Meadowlinks in a hot minute because I refuse to practice golf but their practice facilities were always top notch.

Chelsea and I have discussed how much of a dream it would be to buy Shady Grove and turn it into something similar to The Acres. Problem is, I’m sure he’ll end up selling it for more McMansion development

If I had ALL the money, I would buy that place, turn it into a really fun 9 hole par 3 course and practice facility then turn the rest of the place into #vibes only

I usually hit off the mats. Hitting off super loose, sandy grass probably promotes pristine ball striking but can destroy confidence haha.

They have done a nice job off fixing up the outside mats, and they all have good rubber tees now. Previously you had to move to the grass if you wanted to hit any drivers.

Living part time in Georgia has been great for the range experience. Most courses - even the shitty ones - have natural turf you can hit off for the majority of the year. Prices are not bad either. I paid $12 for 75 range balls the other day.

Yeah the good thing there is that you could renovate it in stages without ever fully shutting it down. First thing would be getting the restaurant reopened and fixed up a bit so you can run it more efficiently and more profitably, before eventually making that your clubhouse. Then I’d probably start working on covering the portion of the range they don’t use anymore, and getting the netting raised and replaced (and maybe putting some up over the back fence). Have heated bays with decent mats and one or two trackman bays to rent out. Then start working on the actual course. You can leave 9 holes playing while you redo the other 9. I’d love to see it as a 12 hole short/par 3 course so you can do different routings on different days, or even take tee boxes and greens out of play when you need to let them heal or be punched. Put in a nice short game area up by the main parking lot, and redo the putt putt to be a little more modern and have less moving parts

Yeah a scratch golfer who regularly walks that course has the ability to play it very fast when there is no one in front of him holding him up

Great observation

I can only get so turned on…

This is basically my dream for the old Keys golf course in Sandusky.

Can someone refresh my memory on where I bought this? Did we do a group order straight from Imperial? Or elsewhere? I cannot remember for the life of me.

This hat has become my dog’s favorite chew toy, and I’d like to try to buy another one.
