I worked there from 1996-2002 as a crew member and later assistant superintendent. We added irrigation around that tree in 2000 or 2001 because we couldn’t keep any grass alive around it. I’m pretty sure the tree was cabled as well to keep it from splitting

No Findlay-Ing Up thread for 2025 has been started.

OATW Major - No Findlay-Ing Up - May 17th - Findlay OHio

Let’s run it back. May 17th, 2025 in Findlay, OH. 9:00 shotgun start with registration opening at 7:30 and group photo at 8:50. We will be playing 18 holes of quota to qualify for NIT spot plus some version of shenanigans in the afternoon. My goal is to end up somewhere as a group to watch the PGA in the afternoon. Maybe more golf, maybe cheap 'col beers. Sycamore Springs will be our wonderful hosts again this year and the cost is $100 and that covers golf, lunch, cart fee and donation to char…

On the topic of events, I still have two open spots for our OATW mini event at Sweetens Cove, which we have dubbed The Cold Beef Invitational for reasons that will become clear later. It is the Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, with checkout being on Sunday. We have reserved one Tiny House and the downstairs of the Birdhouse. Cost for lodging will be just under $300, and passes for golf should be $175 plus tax for sun up to sun down golf. We’ll have some kind of competition and all that, and there are some other details I’ll fill in if you commit. Message me if interested, and there will be a $150 deposit for the half of the lodging that I’ve already paid.
