Do you know if this is the official list or will more be added after the Memorial?
So wick recap. Suprised my son with the tickets to the game a day after his bday, gave him tickets for Pittsburgh in sept on his bday. He couldn’t belive we were going the next day. Drove down yesterday, parked for the tour by the stadium, played catch went for the tour. Then went and parked at the hotel. Stayed at the cleveland autograph collection marriot. Walked to corner alley, ate, didn’t bowl. Then went to the game. Had a blast watched all the players leave. Got 1 auto. (The auto world is a sad state now) . Got up today and went to the zoo. Got around 3/4 of it and he was tired, and we went and bought cheap tickets and caught the last 3.5 innings of today’s game. Usher hooked us up yesterday and today and sat behind the on deck circle of the dodgers, yesterday about 15 rows up. Today about 5 rows up! Yesterday the usher accepted my 20 today he said no thanks he was happy my son got to sit where he wanted to. Old school guy, and my uncle used to do that when we went so i knew the deal lol. Waited for the players after got 1 auto again and drove back home! That’s for tips in here!
Have a foursome playing the two Cleveland Metroparks gems on Saturday.
Playing Manakiki at 8:20am then Sleepy Hollow at 3:10pm.
Anticipating finishing up at Manakiki around 12:30 and having a 40 minute drive to Sleepy provides us about an hour for lunch with a bit of extra time to spare.
Any recommendations on where we should stop for lunch on the way to Sleepy?
Not to be a downer, but if you finish that 8:20 Kiki round by 12:30 I would be impressed. I’d personally be planning for a 1pm finish to be safe. Deep into Northern Ohio golf season now and there’s two hours worth of tee times before 8:20. You’ll still have plenty of time to have lunch between though.
A couple of good options anyone will enjoy, both on Rockside Road in Independence on the way between courses.
Winking Lizard, Independence
Slyman’s, Independence
If you wanted to get a little more deep, I love Noble Beast Brewing Co. that is downtown. Still on the way, and worth it for a couple good beers and some awesome food.
I was trying to be optimistic, but good to know.
I appreciate the recs! I think we’ll plan for Noble if it seems like we have time, and if we’re feeling tighter than expected, we can go Winking Lizard.
The only choice is Winking Lizard here
Will not stand for any Noble Beast slander of any kind. Winking Lizard is Wendy’s compared to NBBC.

Dont think Golf Digest has done Ohio rankings recently
In my very biased and humble opinion Muirfield Village is no better than 5th and The Golf Club is no better than 4th.
There are some provocative rankings within GD top 100 (looking at you Shadow Creek). How big was the envelope of cash?
I was scrolling through there just waiting for Boulder or Fowlers to pop on at some point.
That’s a fascinating list…great to see Mak getting some love. Double Eagle’s ranking is…interesting.
The more time goes by, the more I think tiers are a better way to categorize the state’s offerings rather than a 1-whatever list
I have some #takes but will defer to @ChasingScratch and @PlumbBobMillionaire who are the tour de force’s in this group. Would love to hear @Brick and @schirmert chime in as well as their homes and vacation homes show up on this list as well.
My one not hot take, why the hell is scarlet on this list. Trash ass course.
What is social media even for if not firing off bad takes?
Incredibly biased (and also played horribly when I was there) but Coldstream didnt do a ton for me to be ranked 15. A handful of fun holes but the rest all kind of ran together. Also playing Columbus CC here in a few weeks so very excited to compare that to Mak.
Columbus is fantastic. The fifth hole is one of the coolest I’ve played in the state. That is an awesome members club.
Agree a bit on Coldstream. It’s nicely presented and maintained, but it isn’t as good from beginning to end as others.
Sorry to interrupt the golf talk, ladies and gentlemen. News of the day…

Springfield behind Virtues and Scarlet is…a choice.
As a rater for a competing publication and member at two of the clubs on the list… I’ll just say that taking all publications’ lists into account to make a larger tiers/buckets system makes more sense to me (as the wise and handsome @PlumbBobMillionaire mentioned above). Something akin to a statistical model rather than a linear model.
That all being said… I disagree fairly aggressively with Digest. Their system has changed for the better semi-recently and that will improve their rankings going forward, but there are legacy rankings/votes etc. that take time to turn over and are weighing on their list.
If anyone cares (please don’t), my top tier bucket is Camargo, Moraine, Brookside (Canton), Inverness, Scioto; Second tier bucket is TGC, MVGC, Country, Kirtland, Canterbury. Top of the third tier bucket is Sand Ridge, Double Eagle, Springfield, CCC, NCR, Coldstream, Firestone.
This is probably in order of what I’d rank, as well. Probably. It changes.
No shit?!? How did you get that gig?
I’ve been one the whole time you’ve known me lol… just not something I talk about too much.
And the same way I’ve gotten anything in my life - be a likable, shameless white guy with good hair.
