Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

This may be the first time in a while we may actually have snow on the ground for over a week with the current weather forecast (at least for central OH). The snow from Friday was still around when this one hit.

I am 100000% not making fun of you (no disrespect to you or anyone obviously) but what do you classify as south of 75 if it’s a north south road?

Horrible proof reading. Words and numbers are hard.

Down here?

I promise they would freak out with a foot of snow, haha

I just saw the weather. Winds are shifting this weekend and I think it will be coming from the north so I’m guessing that means warmer weather for you guys. My brother in law in Cincinnati was losing his mind today. It always amazes me how snow and cold affects southern Ohio compared to northern.

Definitely. Being from Sandusky, I am much more used to this weather (granted not as bad as east CLE). People here are struggling.

When you step out of NE Ohio for any extended period of time, you lose your cold weather edge. I flat out don’t have it anymore. A normal Cleveland winter would break me now

The lack of sunshine is what’s breaking me now.

The last time I swung a club was the NIT in October. My winter weight is in full effect, sunlight doesn’t phase me because #zoloft but I need to snow and stay snow or snow and then be done.

It’s all relative as you move west to east along our Great Lake. The Cleveland snow belt gives me anxiety coming from the west side. And the snow in my hometown outside Erie would land me in a padded room.

@PersistentlyOverPar that’s a great picture! Having seen Springfield, no doubt there’s some fire sledding.

As an aside, is there an age when you become officially LL Bean people?

All depends on when you can afford their stuff. I’ll let you know if I ever reach that age.

I thought I left this crap in Ann Arbor.

What’s the best sledding hill at Springfield? 8? 9?

8 tee down through 7 fairway would be pretty good. Lots of options!

18 might not be a long enough run but that one maybe?

We always did 9 growing up. Too much of a walk other places. 9 was the best anyways.

9 Tee to the green. Highest point and a steep hill. Those that got brave away from the road side could get some air off a little rigid going down it.

Putting green between 1 and 10 tee gives a bit of an up and down ride but not as fast.

We also did 16 tee towards 17 fairway, but the snow drifts were rough walking back up.

We ranking golf course sledding spots? A great one that jumps out is #7 at Brookledge. From the green back down the hill could get going fast. The valley on #17 at Manakiki could be good too.

#3 at Sycamore has to the choice

Community Golf Course in Dayton, hole 11 is infamously called Suicide Hill because a couple people ran into trees at the bottom of the hill way back in the day.

Imagine 9 at Springfield with some pines to slow you down.

I might be down there shoveling tomorrow. I’m sure there has been one, but my wife and I cannot remember them ever canceling. They don’t bake in any snow days into the schedule.

If they’re not back in school by Wednesday, they’ll be in school in mid June and my Extinction plans are shot.
