I mean I love Grandfather but second in the state. Give me a fucking break. I’d love to hear what their methodology is. In the end lists are supposed to be fun so I’d genuinely like to hear the arguments for some of these.
tobacco road didnt make the top 100 and comes in at #40 on the top 50 you can play list…right ahead of longleaf, which dont get me wrong i really dug longleaf, but come on those arent in the same ballpark of golf courses

I hate the arguments that are all about design and layout and whos name is on it.
we have a course here locally by RTJ, its trash, and deserved to be called trash, but the RTJ makes people change their minds?

These rankings are a travesty. I don’t know where to begin.
Tigers Eye has had problems with their greens for years, but ends up in the top 15 on Places you can play. Tobacco Road is in 40th place?

I hear you. And those arguments will always happen. Ultimately it’s about personal preference. I know what I like but they may differ from you. Which is totally fine. It’s always interesting to me to see what people like and why.

They literally ranked all of the PH resort courses (except 1&3 didn’t make the list) ahead of Tobacco Road? Follow the money maybe?

Also - this list reminds me of how fortunate we are in NC. Great golf courses across the state, not just one region.

I think we may be putting uphill with this one…after a whole TS season devoted to the Carolinas, doubt we’ll see a strapped come through. Though, I guess they did so with Cali…but that is kind of a different story, maybe?
