Te Arai North Course pictures:
Looks sick
Glad you had a good time!
Yeah Kidnappers suffers from drone fatigue more than just about anywhere in the world. Itâs a cool place to spend a few hours and a fun golf course but since all you ever see of it is shots from helicoptersâŚWairakei is awesome though.
Haha I remember that about Tongariro as well! The downhill takes ages then you hit the forest section and think itâs nearly over, but itâs like another hour!
???
Apologies, but we are going to have a full foursome at Paraparaumu.
I am looking for someone to play with at Titirangi on the morning of Saturday, Feb 17th if anyone is interested? I will be traveling solo at that point and hoping to get a round in before my 16:50 flight home from AKL.
In the very early stages of planning a New Zealand/Australia tripâŚâŚ very fortunate my former boss who I am still in contact with is a member at Tara Iti, before I attempt to ask him if he would host us. Does Tara iti allow unaccompanied guests under a members name?
Cheers!
I wouldnât have a clue, but my guess is no. Seems to me theyâre super exclusive and since the incident with guests a year or so ago theyâve basically shut the gates.
anything you can share about what happened last year at Tara Iti?
The story as I heard it goes something like there was a group of visitors playing slow, got the hurry up from behind and came back with big âget fucked, we paid plenty to be here, fuck offâ attitude.
Problem was the group behind were all pretty senior members and I think that basically did it for the guest policy.
Similar to what @sliceroulette said, they are no longer taking unaccompanied guests. It appears they were getting âtoo much playâ so they stopped it and pivoted unaccompanied play to Te Arai.
Moving to New Zealand for work. Is this group active down in the summer time?
Ha. Not exactly. Where are you moving to/from?
Iâm moving from New York to Mangawhai
Jeez thatâll be a bit of a culture shock, haha.
Did you get a caddy job?
Really not too many Kiwis in here I donât think. Youâve picked a beautiful place to live - not bad for golf either
Heading to NZ Nov 1 for golf. All North Island.
I did. Im exited to move but I definitely have a screw loose to move half way around the world. lol
Youâve picked an amazing place to come to. I went to High School in Northland and worked there for a bit. Summer up there is stunning and a lot of fun places to get to
Any golf I should play other than where I am working? Also, anything I should do that is a must?
Mangawhai is home to what some dub the toughest par 4 in the country (2nd hole). Havenât played Waipu since some moneys been put into it (an hour north) but hearing great things. If you get a few days off could recommend heading north to Kauri Cliffs and if you surf there is good surfing up there as well.
