i moved here a few months ago and am looking for a pro to go get a few lessons from, any recommendations?
Ron Cox out at Hermitage Golf Learning Center is really good for beginners. He is $75.00 an hour
Bill Breen, Matt Walter, Stan Smoot are all good. I believe they are all above $100.00
As Director of Golf at Pebble Brook outside of Nashville, I offer lessons at a value price, if that’s what you’re looking for. If not, totally understand, I just try to create a quality and affordable option for folks that I didn’t have growing up. That being said, I took lessons from Brian Lackey at The Golf Club and Barney Alary who is now at Riverside in Old Hickory and can’t speak highly enough of them. Steven Boo at The Golf Club and Josh Bevell at Profectus Golf at Gaylord Springs are also excellent instructors, and fine players in their own right. Cole Murley at Hermitage is also a great guy with a very successful PGA Jr League program. Hope this helps!
My dad was HS golf teammate with Stan Smoot, and he was my swing coach in HS. Great guy at a really good range (Harpeth Valley Golf). All of the pros out in Bellevue are really good TBH.
Chad Reeder at NGAC and formerly ONCC is also great.
Sweetens has some day passes available Friday. Anyone want to tee it up? Was down there last week, and I can confirm the condities are pristine.
I saw that and would totally be down except I already have 3 trips planned for this month, including this Sunday.
First world problems…
Thanks for the heads up, I just booked myself for Friday. Only been once previously and I can’t wait to see it again.
What time are you planning on getting down there in the morning?
Like everyone, I’m still waiting on the news on if it’s playable or not. At this point (if it happens) probably 10:30.
Have you heard anything?
I put this over on the Sweetens thread, but looking at spots to hit on the way down from Louisville and/or the way back. Sewanee is an option, but we might leave later on Saturday and hit somewhere on Monday and Sewanee is closed. Would like to stop between Sweetens and somewhere in Nashville (not too far off course, so I know Greystone is out being way on the west side). Help is appreciated!
Check out Henry Horton State Park. Fun course. Great greens. It’s a little off course but not too much of a detour.
You could also try Tim’s Ford. It’s more on the way but I don’t love the course.
Sewanee is worth rearranging the schedule for. It’s really really good.
South of Nashville
Old Fort (Murfreesboro, TN) is very nice and hosts a lot of state tournaments. - 8 minutes off 24
North of Nashville
Kenny Perry’s Country Creek (Franklin KY) - 6 minutes off 65.
The Legacy (Springfield, TN) - 18 minutes off 65.
Park Mammoth Golf Club - opening 2022?
Now playing Lookout Mountain next Saturday the 23rd. Any interest?
What time are you playing? Boomer gets first dibs but I would potentially be interested (Nashville resident as well) if it doesn’t conflict with other things scheduled next Saturday.
Somewhere around noon. Got 2 spots open so you are more than welcome
Damn….I have to be in a wedding that weekend…someone take these spots. Also thanks for offering these up.
The hunt to play a Raynor continues…
Let me know if you are still interested !
Sorry for the delay - man, I was out of pocket all weekend, but wouldn’t have been able to make that time with my Saturday schedule. Really appreciate you offering it up and following up. Will take you up if you have open spots in the future.
How was it??
Does anyone have any inside information on why Nashville municipals don’t have an online booking system? Is it solely down to cost? I need help breaking up these old man cartels that control all the morning tee times at Harpeth Hills.
