Caddying sounds like a lot of fun to me, sounds like you had a good time.
I’ve seen Chaska get a big from a lot of folks on here and I’m not totally sure why. Outside of 11, which is an abomination, I agree with you. How did you guys approach that one?
I had a blast! Was more fun than I thought it would be and felt like I actually learned a lot for my own game from helping someone else.
Yeah that hole is brutal. We went 3-wood - 5i, and have to give all the credit to my guy who managed to tuck a high draw to about 6ft and roll it in. Definitely a tough hole, but pin was probably as easy as it gets there on the front left though.
Coming back to the motherland to play my first rounds in my birth state for my 30th birthday.
Currently have rounds booked at Giants Ridge on 8/21. Legends at 7:50 and Quarry at 2:20. I’m playing with my brother and if anyone wants to join it would be to play with some refugees.
Looking for recommendations for a Sunday morning round. Have to be at the airport at 4. If anyone has a hookup at a private course. Would be willing to pay the gues fee.
Bump. Got @cbdmv playing his first round as a new member of the Minnesota contingent so we’ve got two spots left. I’ll dump them tomorrow afternoon if no one fills them.
Nice - will be up there that same weekend with a small group. Playing Quarry AM and Legends PM that day. If I bump into you will be sure to buy you a birthday beer.
It’s 30 minutes the wrong direction but The Wilderness is very good if you can swing it with your schedule.
You’re the dude who created this thread aren’t you? Welcome back! While you’re here, I’d like to apologize for all of the notifications you might have received from my pointless posts.
Gonna cross post here, so apologies if you see this more than once.
I’m looking at possibly doing 36 at Sand Valley-Mammoth Dunes August 15th, and I’m looking for 3 others to join in. I can’t book it until Saturday, so just putting the feelers out there. PM me if interested!
Do we have anyone that knows a thing or two about Rush Creek? I’m playing in the state am next week and I don’t think I’ll be able to get a practice round in. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
I know there are a number of folks here that play there frequently who know more than me. But my advice is this - unless you are super long, take on WAY less then you think for your second on 18. Its similar to 6 at Bay Hill but with a ton of reeds to mess with your view.
Edit - just re-read that you are playing the Am and are likely long as hell. Feel free to ignore. Mere mortals - pay heed.
Played The Pines yesterday (Woods to Marsh) and I’m a bit underwhelmed. Normally I’m super good at remembering holes on a course but I remember 2-4 from yesterday. There are some cool holes and even some go green complexes (7 or 8 on the Marsh was kind of a Biarritz style green) but it’s hard to remember them because your #1 concern on every hole is to just avoid the trees. It very much feels how I’d imagine a tour course playing. The course is basically asking you to hit one singular specific shot and if you don’t, you get punished. That said, the course was in great shape and didn’t experience the above mentioned slow greens, these things were firm and quick which was a lot of fun.
Also can’t imagine how anyone over an 18 handicap plays that course and enjoys it. My cousin, grandpa and his girlfriend each lost a million balls, degreened themselves a couple times and were just gassed by the end of it.
But all in all, I got to play golf yesterday so I won’t complain. I just personally would never willing go play it again or recommend it to my friends
