Play him at Stoneridge, he stinks on that course
Great news - thanks for sharing!
We did (most of) our walls in Repose Grey and trim in Alabaster
Listen. For sure.
Hey quick question for any gear heads. Has anyone had an outdoor wedge fitting in MN? Like actually being able to try different grinds and bounces on real grass? I think 8 years with my current wedges call for some fresh grooves and I would like to see if an outdoor option is possible.
Well everyone, let me start by saying I am lucky we are playing match play and not stroke play because otherwise I might still be out there trying to hack the ball around.
To set the scene, we were at Pioneer Creek
Lets pick up our story on the par 4 16th tee box where Mr. @SauceAdjacent has me dormie. I manage to make a 5 foot come backer for par to stay alive and win the hole. Now I am 2 down 2 to play.
Hole 17 is a par 3 playing about 164 down hill. I hit my tee shot just off line about 30 feet or so from the flag in the left rough. Mr. Sauce hits his tee shot right into some reeds, HOWEVER he has a shot. He hits a bit of a flyer out of the reeds over the green (it was a damn fine shot given his position) and has maybe 50-60 foot chip. I hit a wedge to about 5 feet and confidently mark my ball.
Well now is the time that we all learn that Mr. @SauceAdjacent ’s handle is in fact inaccurate because the gui hit THE sauciest wedge shot that I have ever seen in person that took one hop and then hit the flag stick and dropped straight down.
That’s right, the man shot me down. Congratulations on the win 2&1 @SauceAdjacent . You played phenomenal golf today in some crazy conditions and the much better player came out victorious. Good luck in the next round and I am confident you will go far!
Thank you to @JMK and @MNLefty for joining us it was great to have you guys with us today!
Had a helluva time out at Troy Burne yesterday with @SBST, @redcedar14, and @chefcycle. Conditions were TOUGH. Course was immaculate though aside from some minor early-season inconsistency from green to green, which is very much expected. Highlights include both @redcedar14 and myself hitting stingers dead into the fan on the par 5 16th and still having 400 to the center. I also found myself about 160 from the pin on the same hole and a full, low 5 iron put me pin high. Only got two photos but if anyone hasn’t been out to TB, dewit. Such a good track.
What a wild round guys. Gail force winds every direction kept us guessing. Great to play with you guys! @Battisstatus @JMK @ MNLefty
I love the take on 17… “only to realize this hole takes 40 min”.
Took 10 last weekend 🤷
Updated bracket, including the slaying of @Battisstatus by @SauceAdjacent and @pkeys07 stepping in to take on @QGorski
Waiting list is clear, so any drops from this point forward will be treated as a forfeit. Good luck boys!
@Layups4basketball get on that waiting list
Happy Easter everyone!
@charvey and I booked back to back foursomes at stoneridge on Sunday, 4/18 at 8:40 and 8:50 am. Would be fun to get some guis out there in a group that morning to play or maybe even knock a match or two out.
If any of you guis are interested, let me know and I’ll get your name down.
in.
For some reason I scheduled a Real ID appointment 6 days before my license expires and on a Friday afternoon. So obviously I just renewed for the standard MN license instead so I could golf on Friday instead. Hello Mr Passport!
Got out to Keller on Saturday evening. Talked to the guy in the pro shop. They took out 95 trees over the winter and ~70 more to go this year. I only played the first 11 holes, but the most noticeable removal was right of 8 fairway near 9 tee box and between 10 tee and 11 approach area. They could almost make the right fairway bunker on 8 a centerline. Also looked like a bunch of trees taken down right of 16 fairway near that snack shack.
While sad to have mature trees taken out, it looks great and the course came through winter very well.
I believe they’re all ash trees and Ramsey county has mandated that they all come down
Ya, all diseased so it had to be done. Tree hugger in me hates to see them go even though it’s best.
Played down at Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls on Saturday and highly recommend it. The course was in great shape, greens were really rollin’. Stuffing a 9 iron to 1 foot from 135 was definitely the highlight on an absolutely perfect weather day.
