Facts! Skipped class in college to watch him on more than one occasion

“The trek” to get where the snow line melts…such fond memories. Our best treks as youths were always 7 hours to Lawrence, KS to play what was then called Alvamar and is now Jayhawk National.

Inject this directly into my veins. I attended a lot of Twolves games during the K Love era, and guys would actively run away from rebounds to allow Love to track them down.

I was also at the Brewer 50 point game and it was the most amazingly boring 50 points in a dead ass environment you’ll ever see.

I’m getting too heated. @Alby3 is your man for this list.

Also, the correct answer with basketball is Paige Bueckers. I’m not prone to hype, but that girl is special.

I’ve seen her a few times at the Lifetime in West End and it’s pretty wild. I’m not deep on the women’s basketball scene, but she seems like all she’s cracked up to be.

Man, I thought this was gonna be a silly joke about an uncle that played competitive softball or something. Any relation to you?

Without question she’s one of the top 2-3 high school basketball players I’ve ever seen. On talent alone she’s incredible, but by all accounts she’s the hardest worker in the room, a nasty competitor, and amazing teammate.

I don’t want to crown anyone as a teenager, but on her current trajectory it’s not hard to project her as being one of the best ever.

Got me.

One of two uncles on that team (Sandy Valdespino being the other.) Zoilo was a bad ass. A few gold gloves, a few all star games, an MVP, but by no means Gene Larkin…

Partner?

Could add Gophers basketball and football players to fill it out. Or high school players…

If Troy Merritt and his terrible outfits don’t make an appearance it would be a shame as well as Van Rooyen and his joggers.

Alright, well then, lots to sift through here…I guess I’ll leave it up to the people on whether to include MN natives (Suggs, McHale, Beuckers etc.) or keep it to those who played for a MN Franchise. Also, not sure how to include those who didn’t play team sports into the mix…if we want to alter it to just “MN Athletes” and get rid of the regions, we can. Just figured the regions made sense.

Again, spreadsheet was just a starting point, will be altering and adding as suggestions/support comes in.

Eligible Athletes
  • MN Franchise Only
  • MN Natives Too

Agree with this listing. I would add Krissy Wendell to it.

The FSN spotlight documentary with Darwitz and Wendell blew my mind.

EDIT: it was an entire highlight in the women’s game in the state of MN and naturally the two of them were a big part of the discussion.
