Roll Call - MN contingent? (Part 1)

I totally agree, no idea how that course stays open. I’m originally from a very small town about 5 miles away from Minnesota National and always make time to play it when I’m up there. I think its a fantastic course and worth the drive.

While I failed in my task this weekend the amount of fun had was all world. Cannot wait until the North Star Shootout this summer. Going to be a hell of a time!

Finished up my work and thinking of heading to Braemar… anyone wanna meet up?

I’d do that if you haven’t already left.

About to head out — I’ll DM you

You should absolutely try to come up this summer to play Interlachen. If you need to hear about it first hand, I believe our esteemed distillery entrepreneur @GRWhitehead has played there (real life, not sim).

Guy, care to drop some knowledge on the man?

Great course…very difficult to get on, frankly, and when you’re there, it’s pretty stodgy sometimes. Like, if you miss the tee time, you’re out. But I’ve got a few very good buddies there, so will be playing there a LOT in 2020.

Like, “honorary member” type levels of play.

Narrow, smallish greens, great layouts, some really killer holes along the way too. It’s worth the hype.

@GRWhitehead’s online persona is like if Donald Trump and Ron Burgundy had a baby.

I can’t wait until we finally meet. It’s not much different in real life, but you won’t have to wonder if I’m serious*.

*FUCKING RIGHT I AM!!!

NARRATOR: He was most certainly serious.

You’re talking about Brackett’s, right?

that too, I hope. Wish you’d have been sauntering around the place with a new belt buckle, though.

Tell me about it. Should have never agreed to a duel in mid-winter, not having played consistently for the past 4 months. Bad strategy on my part.

We play there every year for our Old guys Vs. Young guys match play weekend. Love the course. The pines can get a little overwhelming but nothing a few beers cant take care of. Lots of fun holes. 4, 5, 6 can eat you up. Especially the bird house hole 6. A Par 5 that curves around a pond and a very narrow sloping green. 9 is a drivable par 4 down hill with a pond on left that can instantly make your round more interesting. Back nine feels like it gets narrower as you come down the final stretch. Again pines everywhere. I’ve seen many “clubproguy” legendary punch-outs. 14 through 18 are fantastic holes. 18 is awesome. like an amphitheater with razzing coming from the patio day drinkers. I highly recommend.

How do you decide teams when everyone appears to be the same age?

LOL. The young guys teams are typically 38 to 40. Old guys range from 41 to 55.

Thanks! Do you guys do the all inclusive? Also if you stay on site what is there to do after golf?

I have worked with Scott Johnson at 2nd Swing Minneapolis and Aaron Roth at 2nd Swing Minnetonka. Both are good and knowledgeable and good dudes.

Serious question: is @BaxterMSP the new king of Minnesota or does @GRWhitehead’s banner still fly high?

I’m loyal to GRW, but dammit if BaxterMSP isn’t a solid bloke…
