Roll Call: Minnesota Part 2 - SIM MEETUP post 9471

The only way I see value in it is if I can play a Tier 1 course at least twice a week and it’s 10 minutes or less from my house. Even that might not outweigh getting condescending emails from Kevin twice a month.

I’m probably one of the few that gets full use out the program and then some. I can play during the week (pre-7am), walk most rounds and have a variety of courses around the Stillwater/West WI area. I’ve played 60-70 rounds each of the last few seasons and I’d say 40-50 of those are in PCC times/courses. And also the savings of playing at Edinburgh, Royal, Prestwick, etc.

Covid year, I had Oak Glen (at the time a tier 1 or 2) 2 miles from my house and played probably 20 rounds there. Though each year, the program becomes less and less enticing with courses going up tiers or limiting hours of play.

For most people, I would say that it isn’t worth it.

I appreciate the responses! This is the push I needed. I’ll cancel later today.

No highs in our 10-day forecast over 35 degrees.

Winter Storm Warning tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning.

I had 6 hours of sim time total across the last 3 days and I feel completely unfulfilled and ready to accept death by depression.

You do not have my permission to die until after our Triple Deke Sim session in 2 weeks.

Optimistically, public courses open up here the last week of April. Realistically I’m starting to mentally prepare my club to open for play in May. :sob:

We always need 2-3 weeks for things to dry out and bounce back after the snow has melted and the piles in my yard are still over 5’ high as of this morning.

I’d probably keep it through the summer and get some use out of it since you just paid for the winter months. Cancel it when we get into the fall “shoulder season”, if you think you can use it 3-5x a month this summer.

come on down man (when we can actually golf)

edit: or come down when we can’t play golf. idc I just have seasonal depression so no promises I will muster the strength to leave my house

There’s a very good chance I’ll be driving down as far south as an open golf course during that first week of April, so count me in

That’s the current view of #3 green at Stonebrooke, and we all know they will open as soon as grass is visible.

Hey Guis, been pretty MIA on the thread lately is there going to be a match play bracket this year? Hoping to make a few events this year and get back to playing with everyone.

Of course. With the insane snow pack I haven’t been overly motivated to get signups going, but look for that in the coming weeks. First matches will start around May and we’ll be giving people plenty of time to play them (within reason) this year.

Just got off the horn with the pro. They are shooting to be open this time next week! I’m going to aim for a Friday tee time if any others are interested. Just a short drive down 52!

Friday morning could work. Daycare drop off → drive to Rochester → shoot 94 → drive back for day care pickup.

Haha, had the same thought. Currently setting next Friday to OOO in my work calendar.

8:30 drop off. 1.5hrs down. 10:15 tee time, back by 4:30 for pickup! Everybody wins!

I like where this is going! I’ll keep my ear to the ground for tee times opening up. If I try to grab a ~10:15 would that work for you all? @LonnieMollo @DpJohnson6 @otafukusauce. If others are interested I’m sure we could grab a few!

Hi everyone. New member here. Live and play out of the East metro area. I would classify myself as a golf “sicko” and have been listening/following NLU for a long time and figured why not join the Nest to see what it’s all about. Looking forward to connecting with you guys.
