This isn’t it though…January of last year we had a full 64 person bracket posted to the MN thread. #factsmatter

Was it that early? Regardless, let’s try something - @NorthStarUnited - get signed up for the Spring Match Play

I’m sorry guys, I’ve been absolutely horrible with staying caught up on these posts. I know I’m on the participation list for the NSS3 in July, so I’m good there (no idea what was going on with the draft piece of it), but for the match play stuff…this is the MN Roost correct? How often and where are we looking to do the matches? Or it it, hey you need to play matches vs. A, B, & C by the end of the summer at an agreed upon date and course?

On a positive note, my wife allowed me 1 round on our family trip to Scottsdale last week. Played the O’odham course at Talking Stick. Was a fun track and would like another crack at it, but it’s not even close to worth the $190 rack rate they charged me. It was also cold and windy and my play reflected that…but hey golf in February, gotta love that!

Hey, welcome back. This is every and anybody in the MN vicinity who likes playing golf with fellow sickos. The North Star United (MN Roost) is a subset of that group, and the match play is open to anyone.

Typically the first matches need to be played before the end of April, all season-dependent of course, and after that each round is every 2 weeks or so. It’s single elimination though so you’re playing as few as one match or as many as 6 if you make it all the way to the final.

Perfect thank you sir. I’ll throw my name on the list for that as well assuming I don’t have to make any travel commitments…driving to Crookston or Grand Rapids to get a match in will be tough to manage lol That said, golf sickos generally are able to rationalize just about anything so we’ll see how it shakes out.

Good news…pretty much everyone besides @anon7197573 and @zhanson38 are in the Twin Cities. You shouldn’t have a problem getting that first round loss out of the way!

It’s up to the two opponents to schedule and work something out, so you should be fine.

Off the record Geoff Ogilvy referred to the 2nd hole on the north course as one of his favorite Coore Crenshaw par 5’s.

Haha…my thoughts exactly. I’m batting about .500 in my match play league at Braemar so this will truly be a “who could say” situation…

It was an okay par 5 (if you’re talking about the O’odham course), nothing super memorable about it other than I made a gutsy bogey after a cold-top off the tee and was playing dead into the wind the whole way. I’d take any of the par 5s at SV over the course I played at Talking Stick.

Without a doubt SV is a much more enjoyable experience.

As a completely unbiased former SV looper, I’d have to agree
