Also, just to put this out there. We need 6 more people to fill out our Matchplay Bracket to make it full on single elimination ala march madness. This would honestly make it way easier for everyone involved. If you have any interest what-so-ever I would vote to throw your name on there. It’s gonna be good, plus there will be a trophy. who doesn’t like trophies

Love that course, the back nine is nasty (11, 12, 15, 18). Steve the pro is the man, lessons with him in the last couple years have dragged me down from an inconsistent 12 to a less inconsistent 7. Bummed they aren’t bringing the DII golf championships back, I never made it to watch when they used to be there every couple years when I was actually at GV.

I never watched but my league played there the week before/of a couple times and it was definitely tougher those weeks.
The back 9 always plays worse for me as well, especially 15.

We are definitely part of the reason for the lack of Saturday morning tee times. You’re welcome to join anytime. Steve is a great dude. He does a lot to keep the university, students, and members happy.

Welcome Scott, I am also on from Grand Rapids (technically Walker). I am sure Jono with post the Whatsapp link for you but you should definitely jump on there. Once the snow melts there is always quite a bit of conversation about people looking to get out and play.

So I’m getting a range membership at Thousand Oaks this year and my dad just joined there, so I’ll be playing there a few times this year. But I really like playing all over town. The mines, Kaufman, thornapple, pilgrims, the meadows, all the GR staples. I have a big soft spot for Saskatoon as it’s where I grew up playing and learning. I also think that candlestone is one of the area’s best hidden gems, I think that course is phenomenal for the price.

Candlestone definitely qualifies as a hidden gem. I haven’t seen anyone mention boulder creek, but it was in really good condition this past summer as well.
I’m always down to play, PM me anytime you want to play.
I like boulder as well, I practiced there a lot last year because it’s close to my office. I usually play there a couple times a year, it’s just a bit pricy for what it is in my opinion.
I’m sure it’s been clarified earlier, but what does the match play schedule look like? How many matches would it be? I’m definitely interested, but I’m worried that I wouldn’t be able to make it to every match if there’s a ton of them

So we are currently a couple shy of hitting the magical 64 number for it to be single elimination March madness style. You should have a 3 week period (@eatonsb correct me if I’m wrong) to complete your match and move on to the next round. Semi’s and finals will be a double day at UMGC and Radrick Farms in September l(date tbd)
So are we just posting a score and comparing scorecards or are we trying to actually meetup and play each match in person?
Actually meet up for sure. I know they are saying the Pinz app should be able to allow remote matches but I am not sure how that is going to really work.
