I’d still rather play at Maple Lane any day of the week over Fernhill. Fernhill is a travesty to the game of golf.

His worst course review course, Union Lake Golf Course, is the dog track I grew up on. Now this was back in the 90s when it was an actual golf course that had 18 holes and was in decent shape so it was a solid spot for a kid learning the game. Once the land on one side of the road was sold off to be developed into housing, the place just stopped any and all maintenance. I do not understand how or why it’s still open these days. Range mats they have are the same ones from 2005 haha

Lol, I moved to Warren this spring and now live 3 minutes from Maple Lane and like 40 minutes from my club. I’ve probably had 5 conversations with my wife where she suggests maybe we just play a quick 18 there and I say I’d rather do yard work.

It’s a fun little track. I love it for early morning rounds on the weekend.
It’s a little damp with all the rain we’ve gotten recently, but it’s in reletively good shape, in line with the other 2 Detroit munis.
