I know GR has a shit ton of breweries (most of which are average to a bit above average, in my experience), but I’d recommend hitting Speciation Artisan Ales for some of the best American wild ales you can find. Really really good beers, and the owners and employees I’ve met from there are super cool folks.
The best tiki bar on the planet right now.
This is outside of my price range but it’s pristine and a good price by the looks of it. Someone here buy this please.
Listed at $175 if the link doesn’t work.
@CarlyRaeJepsenFan a little muted for you, but maybe something you could work into rotation?
I feel like he already has that bag.
Already have this exact bag, bought 2x NIB off FB Marketplace in November '21 for $125 each. It’s my carry bag when I’m not push carting.
That feels like an absolute steal. God damn.
Absolutely. Seller was someone that worked for the club and event, and these were the bags for the Pro-Am. She said they had about 15 extra bags, because some people just wanted to use their regular bag for the Pro-Am and didn’t want them.
What in the world. Right place right time for you for sure then. Great find.
So, it looks like fiancee and I will be staying in Grand Haven for a few weeks between our move from Buffalo to Wichita, so if anyone wants to meet up for a round in early July, LMK, I’ll be around.
you’ve got me about to drop everything and drive across the state for this during the busiest week of work I’ve had in months lol
Cost is plus a tank of gas from west of GR but that is sick.
Cousin and I are heading out for a golf weekend June 21st to the 23rd. We have hit all the staples around Grand Rapids. Looking for recommendations / hidden gems. Likely traveling north looking for some golf.
I’ll list what we have played and if anyone has any recs it would be greatly appreciated. Did this before the last trip and this group came through.
We have played
-Pilgrims
-Diamond Springs
-The Mines
-The Ravines
-Thornapple
-St Ives
-Arcadia Bluffs and South
-Eldorado
We generally splurge for one rounds green fee’s and keep the other rounds under $100 if we can.
Thanks in advance.
Within an hour north of GR:
Cedar Chase (post round at Cedar Springs Brewing )
Links at Bowen Lake
Tullymore (peak season rates are tough but it’s a great course)
Katke at Ferris State
If you’re going further north:
Champion Hill
Wolf River Golf Park
Pinecroft
Quail ridge.
American dunes (pricey)
Manistee country club (cheap and on Lake Michigan)
Bahle farms up by traverse city
good one
so long as it hasn’t rained in the last few days
good one, very cheap, Arcadia-light views for about 3 holes
Other cheap options:
Pigeon Creek (west of GR)
The Meadows (GVSU course)
Kaufmann (muni in GR, but beware public pace of play)
Boulder Creek (NE GR)
Random, but popping up to Pilrgim’s Run Friday and wondering if they have any shower/locker facilities? We’ve played it twice before but have always stayed locally so I never bothered to check.
How is the katke course
Going to forest dunes, the nightmare, and red hawk on my bachelor party this weekend. Can’t wait to get my ass kicked at FD
Forest dunes isn’t “that hard” and then you get to the greens. Best of luck reading those fucking things.
