I can’t confirm that they still do it, but Fox Hills used to regularly open the classic 9s for even marginally good weather.
Rackham posted on their facebook page that they’d be closed this weekend.

Had some buddies who grew up around there. Always enjoyed the previous setup although it was super tight. I walked the property with one of the guys in the fall. Had a ton of potential but Jack is terrifying.

I am excited to see what he ends up doing with it as well. Once it is open I want to get over and play it (quick trip from GR). What is the ETA on completion?
This is the course that will have the highly discounted rates for current and former military members correct?
Last weekend got me excited about courses opening soon. Then mother nature gave us one more middle finger.

Correct. I know they were trying to be open for limited play by Memorial Day, but I have heard they’ve got mega delays. Possibly only 9 open this summer.
That’s a bummer but also not surprising.
@Jobm welcome - i grew up in Houghton. Still get up there a few times per year enjoy playing Portage Lake GC for those student rates and ambassador pizza…ugh i miss that.

We play a lot of rounds at the Taylor courses (Lakes and Meadows) as well as Lake Erie Metropark. There are a ton of courses in the area, but we find those to be in the best shape without traveling too far. Where do you play?
Those are all fun and you’re right usually well maintained.

I know there’s been discussions around various meet ups this year. Would be happy to have one at my club but also want to get around to as many other courses as possible and meet you guis.

I was gonna try and do the gam golf day there this year but will be out of town the day they have it this year, so a meet up there would be great!
