Would love to play and happy to return the favor with a round at Columbia.
My official start at CC of Maryland will be August1st. Happy to host after that date.
i feel that way about a course down here and their wings and ranch…playing there saturday at 9, best believe a 6 piece is getting got after the round
I enjoyed it when i played last Fall. It has a few (maybe 5) hokes that dont seem to fit.
Welcome to CCOM, this is my 4th summer as a member. You will be able to get a time at Elkridge for a minor visitor fee when you join. Especially during the member member at the end of Sept. Mike will help you arrange that, but he might ask if you can get some partners. If he does, let me know.
Any refugees spot @Randy @MerchCzar or @djpie down in MD recently? If they played any of the Baltimore (city) munis I’ll be able to die a happy man. ESPECIALLY if they played foot golf at Carroll Park.
who is close to Boyds?
Hi all,
Will be in DC for work from 9/30 - 10/3 and looking for a recommendation. Staying on Capitol Hill, any thoughts on the best courses that are within 30-45 minutes of DC?
Bump.
Up in the Frederick MD area are the best courses within 45 minutes. Whiskey Creek is a cool track, just all about how much you want to spend. Also Laurel Hill in VA is closer and solid as well.
Raspberry Falls is in Leesburg. 1757 Golf Club is Dulles near the airport. East Potomac is a cool little muni not far from Capitol Hill. There is a huge variety of courses both in condition and cost in the DC area. Unfortunately I’m not an expert, but I think you would be happy with any of those three. They’re all very different, but will provide different types of enjoyment.
I agree going out to Northern Virginia opens the door for a ton of possibilities. My two favorites out there are Stonewall Golf Club and Westfields. Both are on the nicer end but if you want to splurge they are fun. I will also echo Raspberry Falls.
It all depends on how far you want to drive. 30-45 minutes can be anywhere from 50 miles to 1 mile depending on the time of day.
University of Maryland course is nice and inside the Beltline
stonewall is mehhhhhh
second the UM course recommendation. Whiskey Creek is a sick course but not exactly DC convenient, like 40 miles away at least. You can check out Renditions, which is a course made up of 18 replica holes of famous holes across the world (i.e: Amen Corner). Not too far from downtown DC.
I’ve played a course called Red Gate in Bethesda area before, don’t remember too much about it but it was close
I would stay away from red gate, was in rough shape last time I was out there, close to the city I would recommend Maryland I. College park, laurel hill in Lorton and blue mash a little further away from the city
Will be in Baltimore this weekend - if anyone’s interested in getting out Sunday or Monday morning (just found out I have off for Columbus day), let’s do it! Minimally bouncing around fells pt. during the day/nights, down to grab a beer as well.
Where did you end up playing? Hopefully you hit Fells Fest for a few beers
Didn’t get a round in but tore up fells pretty good! My buddies played on the main stage tonight. Maybe hitting Carroll for 9 tomorrow
I’m new to Maryland, moving to Towson back in August. I try to play a few times a month to keep the rust away. Looking for more people to play with in the area. I know this post is ill-timed being on the brink of real winter weather, but I am happy to go chase it around as long as I can somewhat feel my hands.
