Not hanging out with you without anyone else around…
This has me giddy.
KU grad, Big XII individual champ, host member, and Euro Tour player Chase Hannah has received an exemption into the advent this year. So that’s fun.
I need a greens mower! Any ball pickers?
Yessir. Along with ball washers as well. Sent this to my wife and she is locked in as well, which I was not expecting. I’m shocked they are selling everything but especially some of the Hillcrest branded stuff like the member’s photo and plans. Doesn’t bode well for them keeping any of the history around.
We should definitely snag a few items to have for trophies for future events lol
Need more info on the island… teebox?! Apologies if it has previously been explained in here – I know Hillcrest has always been a hot topic of discussion!
Yeah I always thought the flow from 10-11 was really fucked up. Makes sense that there was a water feature there with how low all that overgrowth sits. Can’t imagine they’ll bring that back.
Checking google earth’s historical images shows 11 the same way as it is (was?) in 1990.
Yeah, and I guess they just drained that water and made it into waste area? Pretty wild.
There’s also a par 3 in the print to the side of today’s #2 that I’m curious about. I really want to win the auction, but I’m betting it’ll go for north of $200!
That was the overall plan for the course from the late 70s early 80s done by Bill Amrick, which is when they added the current pond by 14. The second pond shown in the plan was never actually completed. Until the 70s there was zero water on Hillcrest.
Knew I could count on you for that info, @BlueRiverNotHOA. Thanks!
So just did a quick skim and I share your feelings that some of the stuff they are getting rid of seems to show they don’t plan on keeping the history of the course; HOWEVER, outside of some tables, a plan that wasn’t implemented, and random fixtures/art they do seem to be keeping a lot of the historical (e.g., pre 1990s remodel of the club house) stuff.
I did not see any lots that included the actual historical documents of the club and the number 1 thing I was looking for (the black iron gas light fixtures on the patio/next to the original entrance that are fucking sick and have the original HCC interlocking logo) weren’t being offered.
My hope is that they are getting rid of a lot of the B- historical pieces and keeping the truly good historical stuff. They haven’t filed for a demo permit yet and the utility companies haven’t filed for shut offs (the first step in the demo process), so I think its still wait and see at this point. Given they want to reopen in two years, we should be finding out some information soonish because demoing and rebuilding the clubhouse is going to take a not insignificant amount of time.
You’re the best @BlueRiverNotHOA

Man, there is just so much stuff to go through there. Almost feel like it would be better to show up in person and bid.
Like how am i supposed to show up and move a 19’ foot building!?!?!?
Also, why the hell are there so many beds?!?!?!
so many thoughts…
So which GPGC event are you playing in this year so we all have a chance to buy you a drink for your outstanding contributions?
Happy to help. Are you flying into Edinburgh? I’d got Delta if so. Can get there and back with only 1 stop. Glasgow is a little harder to deal with. I flew United to Frankfurt the on to Glasgow. Coming back we stopped in Dulles. 3 stoppers are tough.
Delta to NYC or ATL (I think there is a flight there) on to Edinburgh is the best route IMO. The united planes in and out of MCI are ass.
I’d like to send a giant middle finger to @BigJones for introducing me to equip-bid. I have spent more hours on this site than I’d like to admit, am bidding on several things I don’t need, and (thankfully) narrowly lost out on a giant inflatable bounce house that I have no space for. What the hell.
YOU ARE WELCOME! Know some guys that got a bounce house and they use it for birthdays instead of renting them. You can find some good deals but a lot of bidding is the worst.
