Finkbine looks like a good round. Reminiscent of UGA’s course where I used to play frequently.
Do a lot of folks center their activities around UI events/sports? Presume that is main attraction of the town.

Don’t sleep on Saddleback Ridge, but yes, Finkbine is a great round.
UI events are certainly the majority of activities, but very robust arts / performance community not explicitly connected to UI. Iowa City Downtown District non-profit does a wonderful job of both generating events and synthesizing all the goings-on of the town.

would recommend joining the nest as well.
nice way to support the guys and the ability to connect with the rest of us sickos. we’re always setting up rounds of golf and small meetups, not to mention the bigger events that happen.

If it’s just public courses: I’d say Waveland in DSM. If you’re willing to go a little further north, either Veenker in Ames or Honey Creek in Boone

Veenker is a great course to have a good round on because you usually survived the hard/quirky holes and capitalized on the easier holes and the par 5s. Is that a nice middle ground, @Sweet_Cupn_Cake, @Worst12onEarth?

Sure, if you enjoy playing the worst 2 hole stretch in Iowa and 4 other really bad holes, it’s great.

You havent done the research to back this up. Pick any 2 holes at TCI and theyre worse.

2 sucks and deep down you know it. It’s a wild hole to play, but design-wise it sucks, and its so overgrown to make it even worse. Terrible greens.

16 is fine, the trees on the corner are the only thing making it a bad hole. I agree with 15, although if they got rid of those trees on the inside corner by the green it would at least be acceptable.
