Yeah I think definitely golf on Saturday somewhere and hoping to play Old Dane at least once. Tuesday golf is a possibility as well in the hopes that I’m back to Des Moines by Tuesday night.

With tee times it’s pretty likely that you’ll have time before or after a round one of the days to hit the Dane. It’s a fun loop, easy walk, impeccable greens. Plus they also use the wind socks for flags

If I happen to be driving across Iowa after The Cornstalk, it seems like the no-brainer course to play is Spirit Hollow, right?

Ya. Really probably a couple options thatd be “worth it”. Assuming youre going through Burlington anyway and up to I80.
Spirit Hollow - has some good holes playing through the valley with elevation changes and a few snoozers on top.
Finkbine - Iowas home course and theyre doing a good job of making positive tweaks each year.
Waveland - In Des Moines, old, hilly, some quirk. Check off a Strapped Course (unless you want to come over for the Butter Cow in August!)
Could take the route up to highway 20 and play Cedar Rapids CC if you have a clib connection.

Got a couple options for us coming from the QC. Looking at Ft Dodge CC and Spring Valley in Livermore. Probably taking US 20 but Elmwood in Marshalltown is calling my name too.

100% True Story: I delivered DoorDash McDonald’s out to that place two summers ago. Like the most basic order too, nothing special. I almost drove onto a tee box by their front door backing up my car at the time.

I am guessing they are two different names for this 9 hole gem, but it’s interesting that the Encompass Golf Club had photos on Google of the course whereas Johnson Ridge (which appears to pin the actual location) shows nothing.
Someone tell the seller I’m willing to pay off $10 of his debt if he lets me come play whenever I want.
